WW22 - Diaries of the Madmen

WTF is this jkaen? The tasunke quotes about the jailer were in response to *Gazglum* saying that you might have been jailed. And "lock the fucking keys" is a phrase that doesn't even make any sense, so how can you read that as hinting a scan result (nevermind that Tas had no reason to hint any scan results at night anyway)

as to how I played my role

I expected to be shot on n2 because the remaining unclaimed people were myself, Zak and Tasunke. Zak was suspicious and Tas didn't really seem to be paying attention

I didn't drop any hints that I was seer, because that's not how I'd play as a seer. Refusing to claim d3 should have been enough to draw a kill or roleblock I thought.

as for the setup:

my role + Tas are worth about a doctor put together
and abilityseer + tracker worth about an alignment seer

If we assume Ryan town there's 3 village roles which are anti-town (puppet, puppet master, post restrictor) and neighbour which is a fairly minor role

I don't see how having another anti-town role (miller) in here fits at all.

We got our PMs a day before the game started, scum had plenty of time to discuss a miller fake claim

ok, if you want to fight this fair enough.

The comments about jailkeeper were responding Gazglum, but it showed him having a keen interest regarding that role right after N1, suggesting he had scanned one.

I think his final comment is a clear reference to you holding the keys to the jail cell, and its this that points the finger at you being the jailor

oh and tas hinted at you being the jailkeeper, because you had just requested that somebody take him out, hence he saw that you were not friendly towards him

Well.. no? Tas comment was more along the lines of "why did you assume there is a jailer rather than some other blocking function"

and I thought his comment after I called for him to be shot was a reference to either capslock or bold text such as SHOOT: TASUNKE, since Tasunke being vig killed is a running joke by now

Jkaens Diary, Final Entry Wrote:So zak wasn't the roleblocker? Bit of a shock there. Glad that zak couldn't mouth enough to convince Q, could've been ugly. We need to stay focused, distractions will kill us. I've been looking through Gaz's old records, we need every little thing we can get.

It's obvious the mafia's leaving me as lynchbait. Thanks Gazglum, sorry Azza. I'll make it up to you by serving up steamed uberfish. Ryan's going to get hit tonight, and I think uber's the one who'll do it. His claim smells a bit rotten. Tasunke's been dropping hints that there's a scum jailer, and I bet it's uber.

And there'd better be a scum jailer, I can barely leave the house at night, and I'd be pretty pissed if the cockblocker was village. Last night someone buried my house in snow. I mean, what the hell man?!? I keep dreaming I'm in a white box with jail bars drawn on the sides. In red crayon. Magic Psychology Ball says that I'm afraid of blood. It also says I'm in love with a giant bird. Not sure whether it's true or bullshit.

Ryan held a mayor's election party, serving up the last of the holy water. He made a toast to the late Azza, the best little puppet a guy could ask for. Q started reading some weird stories about werewolves, making them sound like a big deal. I've tracked plenty of werewolves, and they were all delicious. Especially that one with the silver blood.

I told the guys my case, and the fish started floundering. I thought if I were him he'd roll over and concede. I whacked him with Q's giant fish. It made a nice slimy sound. And I would've slapped him again but Ryan told us to stop, saying 'slapstick doesn't catch wolves'. Anyway I stumbled home a lot less drunk than I hoped. uber's sure in deep here.

Sitting at home I've been hearing a lot of weird voices. I think they're the spirits of ancestors and dead villagers, talking about the crazytown down here. More chatter can only be a good thing. I think I hear a robot saying 'go go Jkaen!' Wish me luck, guys!

Jkaen, Village Tracker, was killed Night 4.
It is now Day 5. Day 5 will last 24 hours. Deadline is April 19th, 2000 PST (April 20th, 0300 GMT).

Well that makes it easy.
uberfish

I'm leaving the country soon, so uber out you have any arguments to make, make them fast.

If its Ryan, well gg to him.

Well, for me this is simple. Ryan's 99.9% cleared by meta so that leaves Q as the last scum

In addition to the meta case - there's already so much screw with the players roles in this game (puppetry, post restrictor, 2 ability scanners) that a miller without seer as well really doesn't seem plausible - the real clues are in Q's behaviour when a scum is in the firing line

Day 1 (mattimeo)

Q Wrote:Of the two id definitely prefer to lynch novice, because I think he's been acting very strange, and he is suspicious while mattisnt (IMO).

Nowhere does Q actually explain WHY novice is acting strange/suspicious, nor does he address the various arguments against Matt that aren't related to the novice PM wording case

Q Wrote:Wow I didn't even realise tasunke was playing...

And then we have a late anti-lurker vote on tasunke after it's clear that village considers Matt scummier than Novice

Day 4 (zak)

And here Q starts off by voting zak but tries really hard to find a non-zak lynch

What changed? Jkaen made a small procedural mistake by not immediately claiming his night action and scum thought they could get him lynched for it. After all it only takes one of us to switch and I'd expressed suspicion of Jkaen in the early game

when this doesn't work he tries to lynch me based on a ridiculous process of elimination argument never mind that he'd earlier stated his scum pairs as:

Quote:What's most likely scum pair for me?
Zak-uber, and forget about the roles...followed closely by zak-jkaen for a more meta based version (roles fit with scum).
Common factor?
zakalwe.

and then switched to:

Quote:At this point I'm willing to bet jkaen-zak aren't a pair, in which case do you think me or uber are more likely scum partners of him?
I obviously think that its uber - therefore id rather we lynch him so as to be certain of catching a wolf.
This all depends on who you trust more out of me or uberfish, but if you trust me more then id MUSH more prefer to lynch uberfish so a jkaen-uber pair doesn't skate to a win.

The overall picture here is that, whenever a scum has been on the block, Q has been trying to deflect to alternate targets, for weak reasons.

Now I can already guess what Q's answer to this will be and that's "would I really defend my partners as scum?" To which I'll point out that yes, scum will defend scum if there's a worthwhile risk vs reward involved. Mattimeo's death confirmed novice as town (always dangerous) and a mislynch yesterday would have meant a scum win.

This should make it pretty clear that Q is the last scum, but I'll answer questions from Ryan if need be.

Ryan it would really help if you made your opinions known...
As to the idea that "there are too many screw the players roles" - how exactly are ability scanners(!) screw the player roles??
Basically that point is premised entirely on second guessing the stick on a vaguely defined meta about his design setup.
As to day 1 - if I was as you state, strongly defending a scumbudy, why on earth would I attack novice, who no one else was going to join me on - why not jkaen who had votes and broad suspicion?
If you bothered to read the day you'd have seen easily why I was suspecting novice - his behaviour within the neighbour thread was appallingly suspicious (thinking they were neighbours, jumping on and off matt within it etc.). Those of you who believed the matt train were happy to dismiss this as a paranoid villager, but as for me the evidence pointed to novice.
I was never going to get onto the matt train when it was comprised entirely of a meta view on how matt claimed and the wording he gave.
As to the tasunke vote, why do you think that I was pushing that for a lynch??? Do you really think I'm sucky enough at this to think I could shake 3-4 people who were locked in on their respective targets onto a person who hasn't posted at all???
As I said at the time, it was a vote to raise awareness that tasunke was actually playing...
If I really wanted to save matt, why not switch to jkaen, the commonly accepted second target who was generally considered suspicious and had votes? And why are you so certain I wouldn't bandwagon? As Ryan well knows, I was perfectly willing to bus in '20, attacking tasunke before he was day killed, and hitting azza after that (none of us was lynched though...).

As to day 4, I was most suspicious of zak, then you, then jkaen. I considered zak a common factor until the two attacked one another enough to convince me they couldn't function as a pair. In this situation IT MAKES SENSE for me to hedge my bets and lunch the common factor.

Fake edit: OMG that's terrible Ryan.
unvote.
This is not going to chance. If your going to be a stupid villager, id rather lose then have this chosen by chance.
