WW23: The Heart of Gold

Geez, guys, just because I said I wasn't going to be around for a day or so, didn't mean you had to take the time off as well... we're still on the first page here tongue

(April 26th, 2013, 01:40)zakalwe Wrote: Why would he think that the first half of day 1 doesn't matter, when he himself spent that same time tripping all over himself as scum in the previous game?
I have difficulty picking up actual reads on people during that time, given a distinct lack of any real information to base them on.
Hence, to me, that portion of the game is useless, and doesn't matter other than amusement from the banter that takes place.

Bigger seems to be the main one asking after Ryan. Not unusual behaviour in itself for him, asking after people who haven't shown up, though I do somewhat agree with Serdoa that less than 7 hours after game start may be a tad early for that.
However, Ryan 'til he shows up / someone makes a sufficiently convincing argument against someone else.

To combat that, I think I'm just going to vote for the person with the least posts. right now that's Ryan. If he shows up (quickly, not much time left) and starts actually contributing I might change my vote. but if he doesnt, I REALLY think we have to policy lynch him. we only have 3 mislynches - and if one villager is mod killed we go down to 2 mislynches.
As much as it's highly hypocritical for me to criticise this for being exactly the same vote with pretty much the same reasoning as mine, I can't help but feel the effort you went to justify it, rather than just putting it forward as a lurker lynch, is somewhat suspicious.

...and every line of reasoning I could follow from there points to *really* stupid plays, given in a 9 player game there's almost certainly 2 scum. So I'm going to drop the whole "Bigger's bussing Ryan" line I was heading down as being completely non-sensical.

in a normal game, I've advocated just letting non players be mod-killed. my point was we can't do this in a 9 player game. good grief matt.
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.

Lynching Ryan feels pretty lame, but I can't say I argue with the theory if he doesn't show up.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Unsurprisingly, and to my utmost delight, I still have mostly null reads. That makes a Ryan lynch all the more attractive if he doesn't show up.

I'm also willing to lynch Uberfish. I think his play so far fits his scum MO. A couple of jabs, but pulling his punches a little. He could be poking at his scumbuddy, or testing the waters to see if anything will stick on a good guy.
If you know what I mean.

Lame votes are lame... We are a lamed village waiting to be culled one by one. Cripples...

Mattimeo is lamer than I thought, so lame he might even be faking being lame. Maybe Zak isn't so wrong.

I thought Uberfish's vote was bad, but then I realized he hasn't posted in thread since Gaspar posted an explanation to his question? Does Uberfish still think Gaspar is suspicious?

Gaspar voted for Uberfish and I think his reason is bad. He hopped off Bigger, but I don't know why. Bigger didn't really write anything convincing. And now Bigger has hopped off Gaspar in different direction.

Computation says Gaspar and Bigger are both scum who distance in first half the day and moved on to other targets now. But nobody's gonna believe me anyway. Everyone's going to jump on mislynch bait Ryan...

Zak throws himself onto the fire. The Self-flagellation is deafening. Either scum or drunk on pleasure. But it matters not which.

My vote's staying on Gaspar. I still find his reason for voting Bigger rather contrived, ok he's explained it but if it was intended as a reaction test, then following up with another "random" vote on me because there was "nothing to go on" doesn't really jive with this. Especially since Zak called me suspicious a few posts before that vote.

I don't like Bigger's "look how pro-town I am" routine either, and Zak's argument where I could be either scum attacking scum or scum attacking town is lame.

Don't like that Lewwyn. You sound as if someone had set Ryan up while in reality he simply hasn't posted and probably shouldn't have signed up in the first place if he has no time. Anyhow, what I fear more right now is that Ryan does show up later and suddenly there will be several players re-voting with just a few hours on the clock, making the whole first day an even bigger mess.

I also don't like the whole Bigger / Gaspar interaction, that reads faked on both ends. Really hard trying to act like villagers. As if Gaspar attacked Bigger and Bigger felt he had to retaliate, leading to Gaspar getting set up for a lynch which the two then tried to somehow get out of.

zak I am not too happy with, same as uberfish, but they both read for me rather genuine right now.

Mattimeo is a villager. I don't see the "over the top" acting that was mentioned. He is just like always.

Therefore I'll stay with my vote. Though if Ryan isn't showing up, I will switch to him. But I think it is enough to state that and be certain that I can be online like 30 mins before lynch and it is not needed to switch my vote right now.
