[SPOILERS] Jowy & Stampy

It shouldn't. How could telling him that when he ends turn during war his turn is done mess anything up. lol

Accepted the offer.

This one though, no chance smile
Even despite this:

Yeah, longbows. And walls. This will make our life harder.
We will keep going forward though. With forks and non-hill city we should get good odds.
I'm unsure whether I should have waited for those 3 units to catch up. Let's see if they get killed.

Oh, we also had a casualty, his Maceman attacked our stack and won.

Total two phants down now, he attacked them with 73% and 68% odds and won both battles. Macemen are low though. It's good he's been whipping longbows and not Macemen, because we'd be in trouble. I decided to wait for our three units to catch up, and spent the turn bombarding the defenses of LA.

I think our best bet is to move to the fork position, then offer peace for all the techs we can get.
Then we'll start rebuilding and hit enter until the end of the game.
We gave it our best shot, didn't work out. TT could have been a better target.
Should have kept playing dynamic, and not forced myself to go the war route just because I had these tools available.

To anyone who started lurking just for a war, I recommend checking out our Civ5 PBEM game.
I find Civ5 combat much more interesting and fun.

I want to clarify, that you can win wars in Civ4 of course, and the reason I didn't was because I didn't play it well enough.
It's the actual war that can be quite boring after the initial shock, since with Civ4 mechanics there's no reason to even attack an unit if you can see that you don't have enough troops to win a stack vs stack battle.

Did you lose a bunch of units or something? (Like, why the game over fatalism if not?)

I didn't start lurking for a war, was just happeh when you said you were having one smile

Nope, no casualties last turn. AT managed to whip enough units, and good units (longbows and maces), to withstand our attack.

We managed to cut off the bulk of their forces! Though they might pull of some trickery with the workers and 1T roads.
Anyway, things look good. Which is a shame, because I had to send this:

If you are a dedicated lurker, you might be wondering why.
If you are a global lurker, you know exactly why.

Welp. Time to go defensive. He doesn't know that we know, since we haven't sent any visible units his way.
Spies are awesome. I should have built more, and much earlier.
This is why I only asked for 1 tech from AT.. I really want to get back ASAP, and without any extra casualties.
3 techs might have been pushing it.

Eden Prime, our science capital! I settled the new Great Scientist there. It could only pop Paper so I didn't bother with that.

I've also given AT permission to log-in on my half to check out the peace offer, if he so wishes.
