WW23: The Heart of Gold

That's okay, now let me show you how to win a game of WW properly. wink

Disclosure: my ability is Recite Poetry (surprise!).
Using it on a player treats them to an extra-special personal recital from yours truly, wherein I discuss and perform to them from my extensive personal poetry collection!
This player then spends the night blinded and bedazzled at being the unworthy recipient of such high honour.

It's effectively a jailkeeper type role, wherein the target is unable to take any actions nor can any other actions be made upon them.
Last night, as stated, I used it on uberfish.

Villagers, you now have a decision to make. Either:
  1. uberfish was the target of the nighttime kill which was therefore prevented.
  2. uberfish is the remaining wolf.
I will now present a lengthy and detailed analysis of which of these two options is most likely, involving hierarchical loglinear analysis, circumambulations, kurtosis and Stem-and-leaf displays, the output of which is below:

Screw that.

Since I ability-claimed anyway, I'll just go ahead and claim that I'm Arthur Dent and aligned with the town... er I mean village... er I mean good guys. My ability is Make Tea and uses the Nutrimatic vending machine outside someone's room, which apparently overloads the electronics causing electrical abilities to fail. Basically it's a 1-shot electric jailer.

PB if you're town posting an ability claim 6 minutes before the deadline is really, really stupid. If scum were watching at the deadline that's plenty of time to change their orders to no-kill to frame me.

Well played, PB. On a phone and nowhere near a deadline so I'll save my vote til I get home but even if I didn't already think überfish was guilty surely one would have to literally be on crack to think he would have been the night kill target.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Of course I'm a legitimate night kill target. Serdoa's death n1 and Bigger's interactions with me, which even PB admitted looked like scum buddying town, make me 90% innocent to anyone with their head not stuck up their arse.

Not that the jailer claim proves anything anyway as posting 6 minutes before the deadline ensures that anyone who was scum (except Lewwyn I suppose) could have changed their orders. I mean PB should be nominated for an award for most incompetent use of a power role, really...

Well, this looks like a good time to concede that there's a theoretical chance Gaspar is innocent. smile

You are an unlikely target, Uberfish. The last scum would need two more mislynches - it's hard to imagine that he wouldn't keep you around with the amount of heat you were catching. I don't think a deliberate no kill is likely, either.

So to my immense satisfaction it looks like I was right all along!

Well, I can tell you that if I'm scum in anyone's position here, some moron claims "I blocked Uberfish" 6 minutes before the deadline, and I see it, I'm switching my order to no kill without a second thought. It's not exactly rocket science when it's still 2 mislynches for a scum win.

On to day 2.

Expected bandwagon on me materializes. Bigger initially attacks PB for not justifying his votes (a really weak attack - PB did post some short reasoning for voting me on day 1). When he does get more material (in post 118) his behaviour is rather odd. He does have some more justification for continuing to vote PB here but in the same post moves off to Lewwyn. Only late in the day, when gaspar is in the lead with 3 votes, does he move to Gaspar claiming his Lewwyn vote was a reaction test to see if Gaspar would switch or some nonsense like that. This is post #142 and it reads as if Bigger actually wants to claim some credit here for a Gaspar lynch if it happens by making an original contribution with this "gambit".

Gaspar also moves to Bigger at this time. (Note this is after attempts to bandwagon other targets have been exhausted.) If gaspar is scum, this is the ideal time to switch to bussing if Gaspar is going to be lynched as things stand anyway.

PB declares intent to switch to bigger and so Matt effectively casts what would look to him as the deciding vote here by switchig Gaspar -> Bigger. Another hint towards Matt's innocence. He's not under fire and doesn't need to suddenly pull a bus out of nowhere.

Forgot to vote Gaspar.

Suspicion of PB down a bit, as he makes himself look really bad with this claim when I flip town and he seemed to be confident enough of securing the mislynch by normal argument anyway.

Oh joy, I have to keep playing...

Also, at this point, it doesn't matter if scum saw PB post 6 minutes early. He's claimed Jailer and Uberfish has claimed jailer. I do not think novice would put two jailers into a 9 player game. Thus one is lying scum. Just lynch Uber first and PB second, but I won't enjoy it.

Bottom line it really doesn't matter at this point. There's literally no logical action beyond lynching uberfish now. Even if we didn't all think he was guilty, lynching him to test claims is the WIFOM move.

Since I do think he's guilty, it doesn't matter of course. Anyone have any good casserole recipes we can compare for the next 48 hours?
