Which would tend to imply that there *are* electric abilities. I suppose the shipboard computer's Monitor Room would count for that, and perhaps the robots, assuming they have abilities? Perhaps Trillian's Hack was also of the electronic variety, assuming the Slash was the name for Bigger's night-kill ability?

Pretty much this.

Since a day with everyone jumping on the same target is boring, I'll try Lewwyn for no real concrete reason, just a general feeling of unease. When uber is inevitably lynched by the insurmountable majority of the 4 of you, if he flips scum you're quite welcome to freely dispense the "I told you so"s.

Other randomness: yes, it makes no sense what-so-ever for pb to be scum, given he actively hammered Bigger, but the name of his claimed ability makes so much more sense as a kill method than a jailer tongue

PB, does your ability block ALL actions?

It'd be less boring if you voted logically and we just ended it early. tongue
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

If the day is going to be ended early, having 4 people of 6 guaranteeing their votes is just as effective as 5.
Though I can't find anywhere that specifies that days could be ended early in the rules post.

I did re-read the role generation section, which renders my random musing about pb's ability name irrelevant, though frown

On second thought, you probably shouldn't answer this.

I just love to second guess myself! smile

I do not think novice would put two jailers into a 9 player game. Thus one is lying scum. Just lynch Uber first and PB second, but I won't enjoy it.

I preview edited my post a couple of minutes before deadline and saw PB's claim. If I was scum I'd likely just have deleted my own claim there for the same meta reason you point out here. That said, I don't actually have a jailer title, my title is "Last Survivor of the Human Race (almost)" and my role is extremely weak since it's limited both by being 1-shot and restricted to electrical abilities. Thus, I think it's just a weird flavour role put in by novice and not incompatible with the existence of a full jailer. I hit you with it because you were a robot, likely to have electrical abilities, and I suspected you at the time. I think PB probably is a jailer regardless of whether he's town or scum. Autolynching him after I flip purely because of the claims would be stupid.

Matt, I should point out that PB was pretty much forced to lynch Bigger there even if he's scum, as he'd said earlier that he would lynch Bigger to save Gaspar. If he changed his mind at the last minute and Gaspar then proceeded to flip town he'd look suspicious for it. So this doesn't actually clear him either.

That said I think PB is more likely to be failtown than scum at this point.

Also LOL at gaspar taking this "oh let's policy lynch Uberfish over the claims and end the day without any further discussion" stance. Since that was his original reason that he tried to accuse me of being scummy on day 1, regarding Ryan. Scum hypocrisy at its finest. And look at his defence on day 2. He tries to reframe all accusations against him as "meta" and just keeps repeating "But look guys I'd have killed zakalwe if I was scum!! Therefore I must be town! Why do I even play this game, I hate zak and it's so boring!" 10 times. Totally ignoring my valid points against him which are based on gameflow in the CURRENT game.

The bizarre thing is that no one's actually scumhunted by asking me any questions all game, and it's been all about my voting record, the one thing I can easily manipulate to look as good as I like if I'm scum. smoke And now a jail claim which could very easily be a frame job given PB's timing.

So, two questions for now.

Lewwyn. you went back and forth on my alignment, switching from scum at end of day 1 to town in the middle of day 2 to scum post-Bigger lynch. What changed?

Zakalwe. Why do you think scum framing me by no-killing is unlikely?

Well, maybe that was just me being dense, but I didn't think PB's claim was all that clear when I first read it:

I performed an ability/action targetted on uberfish tonight.
If someone dies from a night kill, even if it's me, you may assume it a divine commandment that uberfish is 100% villager.
And yes a small part of me will die inside if that is the case. cry

Cue segue into a quiet night, crickets chirping...?

He was saying that if someone died, you would be 100% innocent, but he didn't explicitly state the inverse. (Which is understandable, since he would then be alive to explain himself in more detail, anyway.) And even if the last scum immediately realized what PB's post implied, he would still have to evaluate his options compared to the kill he was planning to make.

So IMO it requires pretty quick thinking by scum on top of really monitoring the thread very closely. Let's say it took him only one minute to discover PB's post, half a minute to read it, one minute to digest it and consider his options, and half a minute to submit an updated order. That's still three minutes - so yeah, it's certainly possible, but if he was looking away for three minutes instead, or a bit slower to process, then the opportunity would be lost. I mean, we can argue probabilities back and forth, but to say that it could "very easily be a frame job" really feels like a stretch. It seems like a simpler explanation that you are in fact the last scum.

How would you have played this as scum, then? Honest question.
