This screws our plans but we are still leading and are in good shape. Let's focus on the upcoming war(s).

Well said! We are still the game leader without Taj. No need to get down, but certainly a reminder we can't be complacent either!

Yes, confirmed in-game: CFC whipped Lakshmi for four pop. They have 704 production inside the city. They will finish Taj Mahal when the turn rolls. frown

I reassigned the capital off of hills and back onto cottages. Production is still going into Taj Mahal for the gold conversion with marble bonus. Anything else we have to do before ending turn?

Can confirm (via APTmod) that Lakshmi has 704 hammers in its box, so I think we can taj it as confirmed in very way. But as Kalin said, we're in good shape, not suffering from a mahalady.

Can't think of anything, things looked good last time I logged in. Can end turn.

Shame about Taj Mahal but it cost them some long term infrastructure to get there and we're still in a good place right now. nod

It's pretty ridiculous that we have been already three times extremely close to pulling off a big runaway move. Three different civs have beelined those three wonders and we have always arrived just an inch short. Anyways, I have no doubt that we will eventually make it and crush the competition. I guess the next big move is to absorb Germans with minimized losses while avoiding a dogpile.

Agreed - not sure that CFC really comes out much ahead considering for self sacrifice to get to Nationalism in time. And the failgold is significant - we needed it as much for denial as anything else.

Yeah, just logged in and checked things myself. Not much else to do in-game, unless we want to propose another map trade, but Apolyton, CivFr and CFC declined, and Univers haven't answered yet.

We will have close to 700g saved at the start of next turn, and it should be enough for at least 2.5 turns of 100% research, and maybe 3t if we switch to Nationhood ASAP. We are at circa 540 raw beakers per turn, 650 after the standard discount, so we can get either Machinery or both Alphabet and HBR in those turns.

Anyway, I think that's the most critical question to answer right now:

Should we revolt to Nationhood before our next golden age?
If we revolt, which turn should we do it?

Sullla, here's a thought about Starfall. You commented that the city needs a forge because otherwise we're only flowing over 10 hammers from a (50 h) catapult. Whipping a forge will bring a double-whip up to 75 hammer so we'd overflow 25 hammers instead from a catapult. But the problem is that after the globe is finished the forge will be useless. However, what if we don't build a forge and whip 35 hammer units like axes and spearmen here and overflow 25 hammers each time. Sure they're less useful than catapults but they can still act as military police to free up our war chariots. I like this plan because it gets the globe quicker (don't have to whip a forge).

Seems like a question of whether we want more research or more units for the war. The bureaucracy bonus will probably be worth more than the maintenance savings, especially with Oxford, and whipping gives a lot less unhappiness than drafting. OTOH you can draft a mace for just one pop instead of whipping it for two.

I would think that, with so many cities, we should be able to produce an adequate invasion force without drafting. The hardest part will be getting them all into position be turn 150.
