Can't see a downside to leaving them open, otherwise. You could have gone back and accepted one after finding out through other means that you really want to know what they are, if they hadn't rescinded the offer.

Also, I'm pretty sure Merovech is blue - the willingness full reveal with Cyneheard after the colour reveal went through points to that, at least. As does general interaction between Cyneheard, Bigger and Merovech.
