I think the GLH should be left up to the mapmaker.

@Kurumi Alright, I'm not going to force you to a team. Just a bit worried since many newcomers find out PB is more of a commitment than they thought.

@Jester Which three would that be?

My guess, having not heard of "big 3 leaders" before: Pacal, Huayna Capac, Peter.
To go with the theme, we could ban three best civs as well.

Big 3 - Pacal, Huayna Capac and Willem van Oranje
Peter...not bad but nope. lol
No need to ban any civilizations imo. The three leaders just have too good of trait combinations to not tilt the playing field unfairly towards whoever picks them, which is why they tend to get banned.

India is a lot better than HC
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

I don't think Huyuna is anywhere near as good as the others.
India/Inca need banning ahead of them.

As I said in the previous thread, I'm interested in being a dedlurker or a non turn playing team member (at least, not the regular turn player), if anyone wants me.

If there aren't enough signups, I might help fill the roster by being the last signup. Will need to think about it though

WK, my team is always open for you. You won't have to play turns and I'll gladly discuss with you the state of the game... you'll just have to find out about this state yourself because I think it is safe to assume that also this game my thread will not have daily updates.

But seriously: If you don't mind to look into the game yourself from time to time I'll gladly welcome you on the team. smile Maybe I even get it done to at least update every 5 turns when someone is actually discuss what I am posting with me.
