Don't ask me how it happens, but we have observed that behaviour. I had a crash, could log in, but the game still had an open pipe to Sweden sending off data.
I blame the MP implementation in Civ 4.

Yeah, I'd imagine it's the same as quitting to desktop where it can but does t always cause an issue.

We may have a situation here:
The Germans double-moved their chariot on us. 7 tiles across the turn window, from within their own borders to deep within our territory. They logged in right at the start of the turn (note the 40 hours remaining on the timer) and moved the chariot to the hill tile between Tree Huggers and Adventure One. This has given them visibility on all of the white dot units, about half of the total forces we're planning to use in the invasion.
Now I don't think that this is a total smoking gun, since these units are fairly deep in our own territory and not aggressively postured at the moment, but it's not exactly the ideal situation either. Any suggestions on where to move these units, if anywhere, this turn? (Especially the other stack two north of Horse Feathers, where the German team does not have vision as yet.) We also have an Apolyton chariot trickling in as well, although I'm not as worried about them.
I would probably leave most of these units in place, and move the stack 2N of Horse Feathers next to Frozen Jungle to keep them out of German vision. Maybe move the stack 2N of the capital into the capital? Or would that make us look more guilty? I dunno. Thoughts?

Thankfully the stack 2N of the capital looks like it's heading south... yeah, lets move them into the cap.
Nice job keeping those guys off the front lines... that would have been undeniable evidence.

Good question. The stacks they can see are large enough that they should be a cause for worry. On the other hand, this makes it easier to have a few maces on their borders when T150 comes (so we can put a mace or two into Wasserburg the turn we capture the city).
I think we can move a few units towards Tree Huggers (say a few maces and maybe an elephant), and move the rest of the units in the west towards Frozen Jungle. In the east, we can move towards eastwards.
Or another way: move all our units eastwards, towards WPC, and where the Germans can see quite a bit of them. Ie make it appear we are moving our units in that direction and intend to invade WPC.
Heck, we can possibly even ask WPC to send out some urgent diplo messages to CFC and Univers about their worry about our military buildup. Though that is probably driving the maskirovka too far.

Splitting up our army - a suggestion, going west to east
The elephant/mac/cat stack 2N of HF: move to 1S of Frozen Jungle
Elephants in HF: move 2E
Mace/elephant/cat/WC stack 1SE of rice: move 2E
Mace/cat stack 2N of AO: move E-NE
Mace 1SE of TH: move into TH
The goal is, as I mentioned in my previous entry, to make the German team believe we are going to invade WPC instead.
I also think we should put a priority in roading the tile 1W of Tree Huggers - it will make it much easier for our units to reach the T149 staging tile. Radishes is well placed to move to that tile this turn or the next (road needs to be finished T149, started T148, and a worker on the tile on T147).

Depending on the route they took to that hill, the probably also saw the group 2S of Cutting Edge.
I wouldn't scatter them - send them (roughly) all the same way. We don't want to looked like we were 'caught' by this chariot.

I would only be excessively worried if they hung around with their chariot. If they do, it might be good to create a big obvious stack so they follow that one around instead of our 2nd one.
