[SPOILERS] PB9 Lurker Thread

Yeah, this little Commodore-2metra alliance is pretty doomed to failure. At this point the pics show 2metra doing the heavy lifting right out of Commodore's sphere of interest. So sparks will fly later as to who gets what.

And as for 2metra, what does he care if Cornflakes wins the game? The only one he's beating in score is Jowy so I'm not sure why he would team up with the guy who attacked him.

TT's shown no interest in taking a loss for the sake of land so he won't be joining in in any material way. TT will probably attack a city and then back off the minute he sees even a hint of an army. He ran away from Jowy at the first sign of a spirited defense (not that 'AT' didn't retreat,... but he never gave him a city for it). I really expected to see a "don't want to get in a 3-way brawl over Rannoch" in his thread but all I saw was TT suing for peace.

AT is hugely unlikely to join in a war on Cornflakes without a military cheerleader to goad him on. smile He really should be considering a strike at Blimp since that would really cut off Cornflakes from that region; but I suspect that he won't. AT really has some luck on his side. Azza tying up Cornflakes early on; Jowy walking around LALaw; the timing on the Rannoch peace process; Jowy finally offering white-peace after AT threw away his catapults. Now it appears that he's dodged an attack on SWAT due to the Commodore-2metra bizarre team-up.

Cornflakes repulses this little invasion without much drama or territory loss. His army, production and tech are just too strong for this little unorganized and half-hearted invasion, Master Commodore's involvement notwithstanding.

Only one of them will be able to capture a given city, and without being able to negotiate on that point ahead of time if they both think they have a rightful claim to a pressured city someone is going to be disappointed and that may fracture the "alliance" quickly. I wonder what Commodore thinks about 2metra's units showing up right here (unless this is just where they were from the recent war?)

From Commodore's post, 2metra is going for Mars while Commodore's taking the 'south road' so Potos Village. I don't think that they're going for the combined stack approach.

That doubles down the interest that AT has in trying to take out BLIMP given the majority of troops will be in Potos Village. That guy needs some spies.

I've never actually used a Super Medic, but I hear them mentioned rather frequently. Is this something we might want?

I'm not sure that I understand what you mean, teleh.
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

That's okay Merovech, happy to splains.

I simply thought everyone knew about GG medic 3's. And thought that maybe Cornflakes was saying that to prompt a lulz response.

If I'm reading this correctly, Cornflakes failed to send a message to Bigger offering resources for Declare on 2metra. Awkward!

Or the game interface ate his message. Is it worth raising a flag on this?

So I logged on just now: only AT has played. 2metra accepted my deal, so I take that as I'm obligated to DOW before the turn ends. but I probably would prefer being after cornflakes, and anyway im ready to go to bed and play the turn when I wake up.

i accepted this. love the nervous appeasement. won't even get to keep these for a turn, but might as well not hope for some surprise.

SOOO.. if this was ai it would enforce a peace deal.. I really don't think that happens in MP. I hope thats right, otherwise I unintentionally cheated and am going to have to ask for a reload. lol, I hope not. (...)

Good new is that TT (err, Bigger) accepted Gold + Ivory for war with 2metra. He hasn't actually declared, but he did accept the trade and is already receiving Gold + Ivory. I honestly don't care if TT invades as long a he declares and shows some of his French Musketeers near 2metra border. That would be a great help in precipitating peace after we destroy his stack. (...)

Good spot. Perhaps worth asking Cornflakes what he offered Bigger, since CF didn't post an image of the offer I don't think.

In light of my new ethics on posting lol I don't think anything needs to be done.

CF is going to see that TT didn't declare on 2metra and then should be suspicious enough that he's not caught unprepared by an assumption related to the interface bug. Also, even if TT were to declare on 2metra its not like he couldn't turn around and also declare on CF. So CF needs to be prepared either way.

So this bug while annoying, isn't likely to change the game in anyway.

So how many cities will CF lose before he whethers the storm? I'm guessing just 1 up by TT.

IIRC AT didn't seem to be onboard with the benefits of a super medic either. So maybe not as common knowledge as it should be.
