WAR WEARINESS FORMULA

Dug around in the XML. CFC guide is wrong.

1. Combat
No WW gain for combat on tiles you have friendly culture on and the other guy doesn't

Attack and kill unit = +2
Attack unit and die = +3
Capture a unit = +1
Capture a city = +6
Defend and kill = +1
Defend and die = +2
Your unit is captured = +2

For tiles with mixed culture WW is proportional per iRatio = (100 * iTheirCulture) / (iOurCulture + iTheirCulture)
iOurCulture includes anyone on your team or with open borders

2. EOT
After EOT = -1
After EOT turn at Peace = x 99/100 rounded down

Looked some more at the map and the bits and pieces of Spanish roads that I could see, and I revise my thoughts about a naval assault. I think CFC used the extant Spanish roads and their sparse culture to quickly move 2-movers on Nongoma and Ondini.

Should we send off a map trade offer to the Spanish again? And have we done so with WPC yet this turn?

RB, with the Germans: 13
WPC, with the Germans: 8
Spanish, with CFC: 9
CivFr, with CFC: 2
CFC, with the Spanish: 44 (24 from taking cities)
CFC, with CivFr: 2

Example: RB vs Germans

13 RB WW
All combat in German culture
1 attack and die + 2 attack and win +1 city
3 + 4 + 6 = 13

Example: CFC vs CivFr

2 WW each

Assuming all combat is in either neutral or Spanish cultural territory, this maps to either CFC attacked and killed one CivFR unit or vice-versa.

Note that this confirms CFC did not capture a CivFr Great Merchant, worker, settler, or missionary.

Capturing workers gives war weariness, we know that from the first WPC-German war. However, I think the GM survived, since CivFr started a golden age. It might be that CFC killed one of CivFr's scouting units in neutral territory.

No, with the turn split evicting any CivFr units from CFC, there is no way for CFC and CivFr to have 2 WW each if CFC captured a unit

CivFr was attacked in neutral territory by CFC, and lost: +2

lol That's what I just said?

Unit captured and units killed in combat are different events to the game and WW counter, so that combat is the only realistic way to get 2 WW each. Captures don't add up neatly.

I think the Spanish finally managed to get HBR, several turns after they assured they could get the tech. They have a 12-point score increase, and a modest increase in power. Of course, even with whipped war elephants, CFC has enough knights on hand to simply overwhelm them. Too few and too late. And if they got HBR this turn, they can't have built any more units either…

CFC got 34 score, finished the Notre Dame, and got only a small increase in power. I guess they're switching over to infrastructure and tech now, since they've adopted Bureaucracy and Representation now.

Filling in production numbers now.

CFC has performed three whips so far, 2 2-pop and 1 1-pop. From production tracking and extant buildings in the cities I believe the 1-pop whip is for a granary in Wombatshausen, while the 2-pop ones are in Wien and Wilhelmshaven.

Univers has finished turn early, and I believe they 2-pop whipped the city of Port Aluminium before ending turn, with 85H invested now. Not sure what the whip was for, since the city already has a lighthouse and a granary.

The one really important thing to check was whether the German team picked up Feudalism tech between turns, and from CivStats it's clear that they did not. Another turn gone before we have to deal with longbows. thumbsup
