Agreed. However, I wouldn't take it too badly if they decide to stick to it for 10t, due to the timing.
From a realpolitik standpoint, CivFr are doing exactly the right thing - only CFC messed up their game plan. We can probably still visit each other and be Facebook friends, but not buy dinner I think the key is to make sure CivFr are more annoyed at CFC than they are at us.

I think we should send a message to WPC with a heads-up on CivFr sending ivory to the Germans, tell them that we are leaning on CivFr to quit doing so, and maybe give some hints on how to deal with them mûmakil (not that they have good options).
Have we proposed a map trade in-game with the Spanish and WPC this turn?

Make that a strong recommendation that WPC take Warendorf this turn. Next turn the city will have a war elelphant as a defender.

Chatted with WPC's turn player while logged in (still logged in, BTW). Missed to get a good screen shot of the conversation, but here are the highlights:
- They do not have visibility on Wismar (ie unclear if we can snipe the city next turn)
- They have a main stack 2N of Warendorf (15 cats, 20 other units), and a minor one (the one our WCs are shadowing) 1NE-E of Warendorf
- They ask that we move Ruff Going 1SW this turn, to 1E of the cow
- They said the Germans can hit that tile with 4 chariots and 2 axes
- I informed them about the possible war elephant (or cat) in Warendorf next turn, but they had already started to move onto the desert tile
Maps traded with WPC, too.

Syphilis is from the New World, one of the few negatives that Europeans got from the whole ordeal.

We cannot snipe Wismar. We agreed to leave their half alone until we get ours captured.

Wismar is unassigned right now, and they proposed razing it and re-settling southwards (if we get that area). I don't think we should keep the city, if we do this.
I think we should think about doing that. The main consideration isn't diplomatic, but what it'd mean for our assault on Worms.
