Haven't had a chance to keep up the last few turns. I'm just... gonna post a bunch of pictures.

So, I could talk about the things I've been doing, and why, but having just got the ability to see Serdoa's lead in more detail, all enthusiasm for continuing the game is gone.

I mean, the good news, such as it is, is that he's going to come kill me in a few turns. I'm pretty sure that when he said "I'll think about extending the NAP" 10 turns ago and hasn't got back to me, that's a sign. I can't defend myself. He's got twice my cities, 3 times my power, a tech lead. All I'm left wondering is where things went wrong. Now, I don't think I played poorly. At least based on score, I've generally been competitive with the other players, except Serdoa. Either he just played exceptionally better than everyone, got really lucky, or a combination. And, well, the rest of us probably made plenty of mistakes. Anyway, to be honest, I'd just like to call the game and concede. Sadly, I don't have communication with Molach so I can't really bring that up with him. I dunno if he feels the same way, and I don't think I should message him since that might reveal some game info. Though I guess we both know about Serdoa's massive lead.

What do you guys think? Though I could play through it, I'm not looking forward to another set of turns where the other guy stomps my face.

The Clan is the fastest developing civ around, if they can compensate for some initial disadvantages. Warrens are unbelievably useful and the barbarian trait is not as crippling as many people assume.

I can see some areas where you could have done better, but ultimately I do not think it would have changed the end result, especially on a map like this.

I guess I won't know until later what role the map had. It definitely doesn't look like I particularly lucked out with resources like I first thought. Oh welllll.

Could you pm me the map points?
I think you've played pretty well for a first FFH game - there are a few areas I would've played differently, but generally I think the principal difference lies in serdoa s early choking/elimination (and his being one of the best players on the site of course).
If you feel it is necessary, it is generally accepted that you can post about concession in the tech thread.

What are the map points?

And does this at least mean that my gripes about adding Serdoa into a greens game may have been valid? :P I will post a concession proposition, though.

Map points is probably any thing you think was wrong with the map or imrpovements you would suggest.

And yes allowing Serdoa into the game was probably too much, and giving him Clan definitely was.

I guess I don't get my easy out after all....

Clan is poking around down here. I don't like that.

It'd be nice to not spawn bad guys from a lair for once. At least the lair is gone, and as I learned the turn after, they are animals so they stay put.

I forgot it was turn 100 this time, so I'll do an overview thing for T101. I can tell you this much, though: I am not doing well.

That's actually not so bad. Those scorpions are trapped in your culture and can't attack anything, and if you ever have a chance to capture them they can cast poisoned blade for your recon units.

Maybe if I was ever able to get a Hunter or something stronger than a scout, but I don't think I can afford to do that for a while.... I'd want to do that while still aggressive though, I think, so I could get the capture animal promotion right away. Still, not a bad point.

Anyway, recap from last turn:

Serdoa's Golden Age is over, but he's still absurdly ahead everywhere that matters. I'm starting to wonder if I should bust out my World Spell now, or wait until I have a few more cities down. I was planning to save it until I ran out of room to settle to get the most out of it. I'm not even sure that a double-length Golden Age would even help me that much at this point. Maybe I should have used it earlier? Hrm.....

Only good news is that Argenteria is cranking out Swordsmen pretty fast, so once I get iron connected, one way or another, I should have.... units that can use iron. I won't say I'll have an edge because Serdoa ought to have iron hooked up any time now. Kind of surprised he doesn't have it already (last I checked, his warrior in his city which I can see was strength 4).

Warriors cannot use iron. You'd have to see an Axe or Chariot or higher to know if he has it.
