Beelining for the Capital is definetely a good plan. I wouldn't be surprised if the Germans signed peace for their southeastern cities after their Capital is gone. Problem is, don't we have an agreement with WPC that neither team could sign up peace with the germans without the other? That'll be a pain to deal with, considering WPC situation.

I imagine the war will go on a turn or two after we take Webringen, during which time WPC will either take Warendorf in a pyrrhic victory, or still continue their 40 turns in the desert. We'll have to see how the war continues. The war weariness is still a non-issue. We still haven't got a single unhappy from WW in Horse Feathers or Adventure One, and the raw value is up to 38 now. In comparison, CFC has a raw war weariness value of 120 with the Spanish right now, but I imagine it's still easily managed.

Yeah, I also would not be surprised if they fight until the last man. There is nothing appealing to them in a peace deal.

I suppose if we turn it into a "here's your chance to get back at WPC", it might work, but it might burn our bridges with WPC.
In a way, I think going to war with the Germans with WPC might be viewed as a strategic mistake. Imagine what we and the Germans could have done to WPC…
But that's water long under the bridge now.

Imagine what we and the Germans could have done to WPC…That is some of the silliest "Monday morning Quarterbacking" I have ever read. What would have been the use of attacking WPC for us? Would that land fit into our empire? The war strategy was fine. WPC built a terrible army and used it even more terribly. Still, at this point we have captured several cities and hopefully will capture several more. If we lose every single maceman, who cares? Capturing land and neutering our neighbor is far more important than a bunch of drafted, soon-to-be-useless cannon fodder. "There is no wealth like knowledge. No poverty like ignorance."

Wait no, I wanna reassess Cutting Edge.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but currently CE is in a +7F +4H configuration? We have 2 options. One is work +7F for 2 turns until size 8, and the put the new citizen on a grass mine at +6F for 3 turns. Alternatively, we can work the mine this turn for +7F, next turn work the farm for +9F, then the new citizen goes back onto the mine for +8F for 2 turns. That means we'll grow to size 9 one turn earlier. |
