It was actually not a hardware outage (yay?). Get this: a car crashed into a utility pole, which carried a fibre line. All Atlantic Broadband service for DE and MD was out.

The outage seems to be over now, so things should be back up now with no reload needed.

If the timer is getting low you may want to pause until anyone who was kept from playing by the outage has a chance to do so.

We're good, no pause needed. Thanks for all the work you do hosting!

4H is now up.

Little point in saying this since a meteor is probably headed for my computer as we speak, but since some of the games needed reloads anyways I went ahead and got server 1.5 up and running. It's pretty fancy: renewable ergonomic stand (monitor set on cardboard box), superior ventilation (case door removed), and extra-quick-release drive bay (hard drive sat on bare metal case chassis).

This isn't a permanent solution, but it does have about twice the performance and half the hardware age of the old server, and perhaps more importantly since it doesn't need to be remoted into it's less susceptible to VNC crashes necessitating a restart.

Anyways, game is reloaded to WK's login, early in the current turn. I think I have the configuration settings right, but it's certainly possible I missed something. If that's the case I'll fix it tomorrow.

Just logged in to check. Nakor is up, 8.5 hours left on the timer. I'll pause it later tonight if it gets much lower than that.

Paused it just to be safe. Nakor is still up.

Not entirely sure why he hasn't been on to play it yet. Though I do know he's in a whole different timezone than me, so his play usually happens after my midnight. So I guess it's possible he'll be on to play it sometime in the next 5 hours or so. I suppose I could log in now to play it, or I could just wait until morning (ie. 8 hrs from now) and if he hasn't played it by then, I'll do so before I go to work.

Nakor usually plays within the next 3-4 hours.
