I agree with soooo. Also, I think the actual plan to attack the German field army needed to be made more clear. Ie, we have a shot at attacking their field army, but to do that the cultural borders around the Wilhelmshaven and Warendorf must be gone.
We intend to attack both cities with 2-movers, and if they have any chariots that can attack Warendorf this turn we are happy to leave a crippled defender or two for you.
Furthermore, I consider that forum views should be fluid in width
Reading m-h, I totally agreed, but also immediately thought along seven's lines. Cities we leave them with are gifts to the First Nation bold enough to attack them.
I think it's possible to agree with both sides on the WPC issue.
Why not come to an agreement by which we allow WPC to have the cities, but if they are attacked by overwhelming force, they agree to pull an Inca and throw all troops at the invading force and we get to declare and clean them up.

That is hideously cheesy and should never be actively encouraged. The only reason the Inca did what they did was because they were never going to get odds on our units, but they could get odds on WPC.

Well it looks like the German team has given us an opening to help try to save your city! We are able to take Warendorf and Wilhelm both this turn, which will make the cultural borders disappear. That will allow our main 1-moving stack to move along roads in neutral territory and hopefully defeat the group that is on the pigs tile. How safe is Huron River right now?
I do feel like there is a misunderstanding between us about the nature of our agreement. We said going into the war our goal was to end it as soon as possible. We wouldn't race you, in that we would take only our half first, and from there move west to east. For instance, if you can take a city this turn, we would be happy to let you go first. However, we do urgently need to finish this war ASAP because our western neighbors recently informed us they will be ending their NAP agreements with us. We need to be able to defend that front very soon, so we're trying to move as quickly as possible.
Let us know if there's anything at all we can do to help you in protecting against the Incan team. I'm not sure where their primary stack is at right now since we can't see it quite yet.
Thanks,

Noticed this a bit late, but I'm surprised you didn't mention that taking the German cities ASAP helps both us and WPC because it stops the flow of newly built/whipped units from those cities. Every additional turn a city isn't captured translates to more units to face and a tougher German nation to fight. If it were me I'd push the point that it's in neither of our interests for the Germans to enlarge their army further, and that we should act now to defang them and iron out the details between ourselves later. Maybe obvious, but seems worth mentioning given that WPC didn't seem to realise the significance of speedy resolutions in war earlier (when they wasted time moving their stack up north and gave the Germans free time to whip more units).
Mind you, I've only read bits and pieces of the recent activities here and have been out of the loop for quite a while, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

WPC Wrote:Hi Scooter. The Germans have gone "all in", moving many of their units out of Warendorf as well.
If you can take Wilhelmshaven, please do. As to Warendorf, we have one chariot which can attack the city this turn, (we have moved our stack adjacent to it), so if you can beat the longbows down to the point where our chariot can take it, that would be great. We will send any gold we get from the capture.
As to Huron River, it will be close. They will probably try and take it this turn, so they can move on. If they pause one turn, we can flood many more defenders into the city.
So maybe we need to stay in close touch during this turn. I am around most of the day (est ie: gmt-5) and can log in as needed.
As to the overall strategy and agreement, our understanding was that you get certain cities, and we get certain cities. That got 'buggered' up by the Germans defence against us, and now their kamikaze run. So, not sure what to say. With the no city-trading clause, this means we are not going to get much out of the war, which is what the Germans clearly wanted.
And we certainly agree that there is need to get it over with. I understand your concerns there as well.
So, let's just take it turn by turn for now. If we can take Warendorf, with your assiatnce, that would be great. If you can take Wilhelmshaven and accomplish the same thing regarding the units on the pigs hill, and leave Warendorf for next turn, that would work as well.
Also: I'll say again real quick, I don't really want to leave them Warendorf. I'm past caring. They could have taken the city if they had just attacked it like we told them to.
Chatted with Beta in-game, though the chat box stripped out most of the bulk of the chat.
1. Beta seems to have resigned to not getting anything out of the war
2. I raised the idea of them running an EE against us
3. He hoped to be able to chat with Scooter soon.
