Diplomacy Master Thread- Helping Your Opponents Beat Themselves

So here's a draft for WPC. Thoughts will be needed.

Draft to WPC Wrote:Beta/Tatu,

Hey guys, so we wanted to talk to you about a couple things. First, we want to supply you guys with resources long-term so you can grow your cities further. What's your health and happy cap at in your biggest cities? I talked with the team, and they've agreed with me that we should gift you any excess resources we have if you're at either cap. I hope that helps you jump-start growth on your cities. While you didn't add land horizontally, this way you can grow significantly vertically which is a great way to increase your teching ability. We have enough resources to support your cities quite a bit. Does that sound good to you?

The other thing I wanted to talk about was including you on an agreement. We've been talking with a couple of our neighbors, and we are interested in mutually agreeing to never use civic/religion swap espionage missions on each other in a hostile manner for the remainder of the game, regardless of peace/war/etc. We all feel they are kind of a cheap trick, and we'd like to add you into the agreement if you are interested. As of right now, it would be our team, your team, CivPlayers, and Apolyton. We hope we can add others going forward. So if you join, you would have full immunity on those two EP missions from all 3 teams for the remainder of the game (and any that join the agreement in the future), as long as you promised not to do it to them too. Let me know if you're interested. smile

Thanks,

Can we tell WPC we want to help them tech up by teaching them how to use an espionage economy on Us?

Our greed knows no bounds, we must now micro a 2nd Civ!

*ahem* That would be amusing to offer. Maybe we'll teach them some tricks which will horribly imbalance WPC's ongoing internal games towards their demogame team members.

If we're using Star Trek analogies, then we shouldn't even influence WPC because that would violate the Prime Directive

We floated that idea by them before right? It might be a good idea to bring it up again with this message and offer to help setting it up with them. If nothing else, it will divert some attention away from the distribution of German cities and help WPC close a bit of the tech gap with the other teams.

Was there any agreement on the Stone we're providing them with btw, or is that just a deal we can cancel after 10 turns? (Informing them that we need it again ourselves would be a courtesy too)

I literally lol'd here. The implication that we shouldn't interfere in their development as a civilization until they are sufficiently developed...rolf

We're a smug bunch. I'll say that. lol
