[SPOILER] Sareln and Spices

So I rode the GA to Astronomy while whipping Muskets the entire time. Now I whip Galleons and go pirating right? :P

Fintourist has now offered 3 peace treaties.

After his Alpha Strike: I gift him my Moai Border City that he bypassed on Alpha

After I whipped Muskets everywhere for 3 turns straight: White Peace

After I teched Astronomy and whipped Galleons where he could see them: White Peace + 10GPT from him

Good Luck with that. He's put me far enough behind the ball that I'd need to grab more cities from somewhere while neutralizing his military threat for more than 10 turns if I want to be viable. I think an offensive thrust from Azza against him on the other side would be the only time I would peace out. Otherwise, why not just keep harassing him militarily forcing units to stay on my side while Azza catches up to him in tech :P.

My thoughts on the current dynamics of the game.

Fintourist has Galleons, Frigates, and Janissaries.

I have Galleons, Muskets and am 4 turns off Frigates.

Azza has Muskets at least.

BaII is probably in trouble.

To secure the win, Fintourist needs to kill and integrate BaII's lands while not taking damage from me and while finishing before Azza gets rifles and the ability to draft them. I'm aiming to boat Fintourist's supply lines, so he'll need to spend his reinforcements fighting me instead of BaII, or March his armies overland through the center in front of Azza.

I don't know Azza's timeline, but that's the form of the race. How quickly can Fintourist take BaII's cities. How quickly can Azza tech Rifles and Boats and turn his population and city advantage into units. How much damage can I do to Fintourist in the backline.

Wild card is Viqsi who has an untouched economy but has been lagging. CV would be ideal for her due to the geopolitics but I haven't checked to see if that's in the cards.

Question for Fintourist at End of Game: why hit BaII instead of Azza at this juncture? You've got Janissaries and Azza has just gotten to Gunpowder so you can push his army around right now to cut him down to a more manageable number of cities. BaII can't really touch you. Odds on if you beat Azza even in a limited manner, you can probably get a concession from BaII and Viqsi. But even with a successful war against BaII, you've got to fight Azza to secure the win, and it's not clear that you'll get a better matchup than Janissaries vs. few rifles and macemen rather than either janissaries v. muskets or rifles v. redcoats. Just my 2 cents at this point.

Aand Azza decides to bogart pieces of BaII. Fintourist shows Frigates and I realize I need to resettle my iron to make them :P.

So what's the general feel for the endgame?
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.

Fintourist unless Azza becomes a much better warfighter than I've ever seen him be.

My own revenge consists of ~30 muskets, ~12 Frigates, and ~5 Galleons, with whips adding more frigates and muskets as the pop is added. Goal is to burn Fintourist's holdings between me and BaII, because I can, using frigates to bring the defenses down in the cities and even / minor disadvantage odd battles and overwhelming numbers.

So do I. Dunno how it'll go though. I worry that you might've died just a *little* too quickly :P

Yeah ... you'll get to see the reasons for that after the game!
