Well, his point is reasonable - that this would be a dream scenario for us - we get peace AND lowered maintenance to recover economically. But yeah I don't take that too seriously.
Also, this is CivPlayers, not CFC.

What would we offer for a 50t NAP with Apolyton and CivPlayers?
Yeah, they can have all our current military.
I don't suppose we have a NAP with CivFr?
I have to run.

Obviously we can't make the deal unless we can bring in Apolyton as well, at an absolute minimum. We really have to have security with CFC at the same time to even contemplate giving away any significant part of our power to a rival, and we'd have to have a damned ironclad agreement in place to guarantee we can't get Slazed. No passing the army around to a third party who can whack us with it, none of that. And the idea that we're just trying to pass off high unit costs is laughable...without NAPs in place with our neighbors we have no choice at all but to have an army that size. So without the NAPs obviously we need the army. If we get NAPs and don't need the army anymore, well yeah, in that case we could think about passing off costs, but right now that's such an insignificant element to this that it's funny he mentioned it. I guess he's fishing for us to pay compensation to them when we gift the army. He wants free use of the army against UCiv and for us to foot the bill while they're off gaining land. But whatever, that isn't a big deal. Maybe we tell them we'll pay the unit maintenance costs for some defined period of time during the NAP (not for the whole time, not unless we HAVE to in order to secure the deal).
If we're really looking to buy off CivPlayers and Apolyton and want them to fight another rival, how about a cash incentive program to make sure they really go to war? Pay them $$$$ for every rival city they take (or for some other sensible wartime goal), that way we make sure they're actually fighting and dying, spending their strength somewhere else. Sure, it gets us nothing at all, other than keeping our neighbors busy doing anything other than stopping us from winning the game. If we can keep our western neighbors busy we can focus on dealing with CFC one on one, and that's a much better position to defend from.

We have no agreements at all with CivFr (they've never even Opened Borders with us), so no conflicts of interest there.
I'm dubious that this could work, but go ahead, fire away. We can easily promise away as many as 25 drafted maces in exchange for 50 turns of NAP. All of our resources are also free for exchange. Outside of gold (which we need for our science purposes), everything is on the table. Promise away our next Great Person if you think it would help, whatever they want to sway opinion. CivPlayers has a real reason to accept, and Apolyton would do well to go after another team if they feel they need more land. Attacking CivFr would be infinitely easier than attacking us, that's for sure.
I'd rate the odds of this working at maybe 25%, but it is certainly worth a shot. Keep trying!

Do we trust CivPlayers and Apolyton to hold to a deal, with huge temptation? I can see giving almost all, or giving nothing, but not in between. Just need to hold back, say, the catapults and best knights, and future production, to defend the east.
Do we think CP can even bring Apoly on board? I don't fear CP alone, and I'm still very scared by Apolyton alone. But I don't see a stack of maces and muskets being all that valuable to Apolyton. I guess there's no real way to know this one but to try.

There's no way we do this unless Apolyton is also on board. I think that was assumed in the chat.

So... do you guys think can we break the CFC NAP using the escape clause and burn some of their cities down? Of course the other teams may just think we are scum bags and attack us early if we do... but if everything is on the table.
I guess we could ask CFC about buying some cannons, since we don't actually have confirmation they are actually coming after us - just a lot of suspicions.

I have to say Scooter, your efforts to save us from our own successes are truly heroic.
