Molach: Very early morning 06.00 and evenings 20.00-00.00.
suttree: My ideal play time is 23:00-01:00 GMT.

HidingKneel: not sure anymore, now that he's east coast. Maybe before me?

I'll see if I can collect votes today or tonight. Looks like a lot of don't cares, though!

...it's too quiet here.

I voted no to both lairs and huts.
I usually love these things, would never play SP without. I also usually slap on "all unique features", to get more daventure, excitement and all that jazz.

I think the votes are for guarded lairs only, which I guess is fair enough - no early GPs or civ-killers.

About huts, I love them in SP, but am not too excited about them in MP. I want my MP loss to be bacause I failed to develop well, I failed to recognize the danger from player X while over-expanding, or something else I did 'wrong'.
Say there are 3 huts near each player. Then you roll the dice and whoever gets lucky and draws a tech or two gets a substansial lead, provided he didn't mess up. Early game teching is to me about painful choices and how to best balance bare beaker budgets...gifts from above are of course very fun when it happens, but has potential to decide most of the game right from the start.

So I vote boring, but fair.

I think after. Evening is still my best playtime.

Alright, here's what I think we're agreed on for settings. My apologies for the delay - busier week than anticipated.

Note: assumed Suttree abstained on everything but diplo. My votes were mostly cast in whichever direction caused a clear decision.

Settings:
EitB v9 (me, Molach; other votes are abstain)
Quick speed (unanimous)
Difficulty: Monarch/Emperor/Abstain. Let's say Monarch if Toroidal and Emp if not.
Huts off.
Vassals off
Tech trading off
Orthus: off
Acheron: off, don't even preplace
Compact enforced: no - but...
Basium/Hyborem human takeover: By summoner only, and only if old civ goes to AI
Wildlands: off
Living World: Off
Diplo: AI only. May use the diplo screen, but not words.
Tower of Mastery requires Omniscience
Lairs: looks like on but guarded. And preferably not super-common, either.
Starting Shade: No (HK votes yes, Molach and I vote no, others abstain)

Map type: mapmaker discretion, but err on the side of minimal edits. Prefer standard size for five?

Bans: Less clear, but I think we can all agree on picking from the 'loser's list'? That'd be:
Furia the Mad
Sabathiel
Decius (of Bannor or Malakim?)
Alexis
Flauros (no need to ban him if EitB)
Mahala
Thessalonica
Einion Logos
Ethne the Whie
Arturus Thorne
Thessa
Garrim Gyr
Shekinah
Rivanna the Wraith Lord
Faeryl Viconia
Rhoanna
Tasunke
Valledia the Even
Dain the Caswallan
Os Gabella
Tebryn
Averax
Auric Ulvin

I'd vote for less restrictive before more restrictive, but it seems this is more or less the middle of the votes.

I'm somewhat confused still - it seems people's positions are nuanced wink. I think I've listed consensus, but I might have missed something here or there. Therefore:

I'd appreciate a post from each of you, either stating that you're fine with the above, or specific objections. That way we can know if we're good to go or else we know what we still need to discuss. I'm happy with the above settings, myself.

This is correct. I am happy with the settings posted.

Standard size is about 52x32?
Because this is Torusland, its determined that way, and I can't find a good source (this also makes it very, very easy to alter the in-game size if you want to increase or decrease the costs BTW).

Regarding lairs, I think it's best if there are epic/regular dungeons only, no spawners.

Settings are fine.

If we do that, I'd personally rather just turn them off entirely. I wanted the lairs only because I don't want barbs to be limited to orc warriors and nonpoison goblins.

I'd like lairs off as well, we've got almost everything off anyways. Let's play it noir.

Settings fine with me in every other point. Remains if we want to restrict picks or not.
