I concur, confirm, stamp my seal of approval. Classical_hero and I shall make all the other teams rue the day we joined forces as we blow our enemy into tiny bits, because Caledorn.

Hear ye, hear ye, hear ye all lurkers!
Spoiler thread is now available for your perusal!
Come for the fun and stay for the pain.
I looked over the rules discussion, so far I understand that:
Rule 1. You don't speak about Pitboss 14.
Rule 2. You DO NOT speak about Pitboss 14.
Rule 3. Rules are the problem, therefore ignore this rule and the two above.
Rule 4. Don't be a jerk.
Rule 5. Never double move. (see rule 2)
Rule 6. Never gift a city. (see rule 2)
Will the discussion-of-rules' results become part of the OP for ease of reference?

I see some of you have already started to discuss about the leaders. I hope you don't mind me giving some guidance concerning it. Please say, if you think I'm going over the line here. I strongly recommend going with normally strong leaders that have 1 or even 2 top notch economic or expansion traits. It is good idea to pick a leader having at least one of the top 3 traits i.e. Financial, Expansive or Creative. On Monarch level Organized starts to be decent so you could also consider it, if you want to be a bit original and avoid Top 3 traits. You could potentially make up the trait value difference with superior civ skills, diplomacy, synergetic traits or some other way, but you really should have also original plan then.
Map settings haven't been decided, but unless you give me directions concerning it these will probably be my desicions that are probably most influential to your leader/trait picking:
* Difficulty level - Monarch
* Capitals are relatively far from each other - Both to avoid early game warrior fights that are mostly decided by RNG and to give a longer game. If someone is eliminated early, game is potentially decided very early
* There are enough water to make sea-faring relevant
I would also suggest that every team starts with a scout.

If we all start with scouts, there is less worry about warrior-killing someone when their only warrior is exploring. Which is a really sucky way to ruin the whole experience.
Are we not playing with huts? I would rather play with them.

Yes, hopefully we can get a summary of all the rules / setting in the first post of either this thread or the eventual tech thread, once everything is finalized.

I'd like to be blamed for stating that our team prefers scout starts.
As the Americans learned so painfully in Earth's final century, free flow of information is the only safeguard against tyranny. The once-chained people whose leaders at last lose their grip on information flow will soon burst with freedom and vitality, but the free nation gradually constricting its grip on public discourse has begun its rapid slide into despotism. Beware of he who would deny you access to information, for in his heart he dreams himself your master. - Commissioner Pravin Lal, "U.N. Declaration of Rights"

yeah I think it is a good idea for every team to start with a scout. the reasons seem obvious.

Can we see our starting locations before the snake pick?

I support this.
