Offer Open Borders? It would be a (minor) boost to both our economies. Although I suppose even that would be a clear signal of their allegiance.

Quick thoughts. Couple possible changes.

* "we should be plenty safe" => "we will hopefully be okay" - don't want to sound arrogant when UCiv complained that our neighbors were overly arrogant. Would that be overcorrecting? Any alternative suggestions would be nice.
* Maybe add an additional paragraph:

"Understood about the resource situation. Let me know if you change your mind on that and would like us to send you something. Any chance you could send us screenshots of power graphs on a couple of our neighbors? Also let me know if there's any map info we have that would be useful to you!"

I think if at all possible we want to ease into asking for stuff. It could be over reacting, but we don't want to sound too eager on the graphs.

Paranoia aside, its probably fine.

Just act confident but not overconfident and don't order around and you should be fine. I think you would be over correcting in your first thought.

I think you should structure suggestion 2.

Saying we are safe after Rifling wouldn't be overconfident, just confident.

The thing I'm a little worried about is that we align ourselves long-term with Univers, and then buy off CFC with a long NAP who then set their sights on Univers.

Good work. Reposting my thoughts on GPs, they got buried in other stuff.

Agree with novice that if we have to buy off someone with GPs that it would be better to be Apolyton and CivPlayers than CFC, if we can somehow interest them in the deal.

scooter, instead of 'we would accept any length nap you want', how about, "we would like a long nap with your team..."

...sounds a bit deslerate to me. and I like your first edit.

Do we have an idea how much cash Univers can offer us on our push to Rifling?
Will it allow us to run 100% or 80% science or how much, roughly?
And which turn are we then looking at to have Rifles?

Thanks.

I think the most likely way we have of killing the dogpile at the moment is by buying off CFC, despite it giving our strongest opponents a leg up.

From talking with Civ Players they won't budge, and frankly I don't think we'll get Apolyton to budge either, as they a) invested so much in this, and b) are highly beholden to Civ Players to allow them to invest what they did.

I don't like it myself, because of helping our strongest opponent, and general bad blood towards CFC. But if bribing them out of a war wins us the game, then so be it.
