Intersite Game - Turn Discussion Thread

Here's a new assessment on how quickly we can get to Rifling. I estimate 7t of research - I doubt we can get it down to 6t (we were at 6.5t last I checked beaker values, so we have some buffer).
Our gold now: 1684 Gold required: 7 * 811 = 5677 Gold needed: 3993 We get 520gpt from Univers (excepting this turn), so that's 3120g over 6t. We also get 60gpt ourselves from the shrine and specialists. That's 3480g, meaning we need an additional 500g. One turn of 50% science might be able to fix that, but we'll have to see. Ie, I think we look at a Rifling ETA of T177, maybe T176 if we are really lucky. But we should turn on the research spigot this turn.

We are currently at -743gpt at max science, generating 1013 raw beakers. With multipliers that comes to 1247 effective bpt, and we're at just over 6t for Replaceable Parts and Rifling combined (of course, that's pre-whip and pre-draft). Gold now: 1684 Gold required: 7 * 743 = 5201 Gold needed: 3517 So we might be touch and go for Rifling on T176.

City thoughts for the turn
Definite draft targets: Starfall Possible draft targets: Focal Point, Gourmet Menu, Seven Tribes, Forbidden Fruit, Eastern Dealers, The Covenant, Simple Life, Frozen Jungle Whips: Gourmet Menu, Tree Huggers, Seven Tribes, The Covenant (draft first), Ditchdigger, Simple Life (draft first), Frozen Jungle, Catherine, Denial of Nile Frozen Jungle can be drafted this turn and whipped next turn, not both at the same turn. My recommendations: draft Starfall, Focal Point, Frozen Jungle, The Covenant, Gourmet Menu Builds: Banks are probably the most valuable economic building we can build right now. I think the following cities should start on banks this turn or the next, skipping their current infrastructure builds for now: Gourmet Menu, possibly Tree Huggers, Seven Tribes, Forbidden Fruit

Shouldn't we still be building as many units as possible right now instead of banks? Even if it's too late to make it to the western front we still need massive reinforcements for the east. Also if we're running science at max tilt for the next several turns banks do nothing for us until we have to pay off our loans anyway. Let's ensure we survive the dogpile with minimal losses before we worry about rebuilding our economy. We can build banks later a lot more easily than building more units later to retake cities we lose and as of now we don't know that we can hold of all the attackers. Until we can we have to keep pouring out units and delaying infrastructure.

Can univCiv sustain 500 per gold for next 6 turns?

Just reiterating what I've said piecemeal above, there's probably no need to like tripple whip everywhere if we're going to have rifles in 7t, but another half dozen knights would make me feel better about our ability to flank Poly's cats. Next priority may be some more cats if we're going to lose a chunk on a cuir stack in the southwest.
Also, remember to keep starfall's draftees in the city from now on. |
