Uuh, that copper location will be extremely interesting!
Our tech path is still very uncertain. I know that we want immediate Hunting for Sheep and Pottery by T50 so that we can start cottaging.. And probably cheap Archery at some point.. And AH for horsies...
In slightly longer term we want Writing, IW, Maths, Currency, IW and Calendar... And Monarchy for HR! Unless we take a long shot and try to get a religion.. And of course let's not forget Sailing!
We want everything.. But yeah, if Library first actually makes sense in our 3rd city we could truly consider Hunting->Pottery->Writing immediately after BW.. Getting Writing before AH feels slightly wasteful though (because of pre-reqs) and kind of offsets the beaker benefit of the library. (Of course at this point we are thinking mainly about culture to get our gold hooked up)

Btw, I tested openings that include whipping our worker on T31 because even one saved worker-turn has some snowball potential (in this case I thought it might help us getting the WB without a whip)((didn't really work)).
Anyways: I did not manage to create any real benefits at least by T50. At that point I was with my best run still 1 worker-turn ahead, had 1 less whip-unhappy turn in the capital, but most importantly, I ended up 8 foodhammers behind.. Actually +15 hammers, but -23 food, which makes it even worse..
Conclusion: I'm pretty sure we should finish our 2nd worker EOT32 with a chop!

By the way, maybe we should start some kind of private discussion where we can go back and forth with our micro and scouting decisions.. This must be truly boring for the lurkers that haven't left our thread yet.. We could save this thread for your intersting turn reports and funny youtube clips or something..

Thanks Yossarian, I just wish I understood them... More generally I think the damage is done. Don't worry, our readership will pick up again once we discover we're next to Commodore or get rushed by Azza. In the mean time I don't think we're using enough smilies. People love smilies.
Edit: And we're only behind Pindicooter and Commodore on audience share, so if we can just kill those guys off early we win!

Yeah, I guess we are spamming pretty hard and actively read our own texts
Thanks Yossarian, you probably just opened this Pandora box a bit more..

Turn 30
Right, well I think we need to work out where Bacchus is and kill him. Making us wait longer than 24 hours to know where our copper was is clear cassus beli . I logged in just before the turn roll to see if I could tell which direction the lion went but had no joy.
There are two visible copper sources, one we'll be able to hook on t50. Looks like we should have moved to the plains hill at the start...
I wondered if this makes city 6 better than city 2 - grass cow and copper vs plains cow and shared fish - but until we get monarchy or calendar/iron working I don't think so.
Demos (really bad, don't look)

That's an effort!
Pity that we don't have copper next to our immediate city sites, but at least we still have it and it can be improved fairly soon. (Being a 0-food tile, we are not in a huge hurry to work it though)
What do you think about founding our 4th city on the tile W of the current "city 6". Dry rice is only a 4/0-tile but it's better than nothing and thanks to our capital culture it can be pre-improved. Growing to size 2 with the rice and then build e.g. a worker working rice+copper is not the worst plan in the world. Chop in barracks for culture, improve cows and keep struggling..
Re demos: Yeah we are probably going to suck still for a long time. Just look at that jungle and lack of improvable food resources But hey, we have 1-digit crop yield ranking. That's something!

Another possible site, not sure if it's any good, is right on the copper: share the capital's corn, work the rice, eventually the banana, etc.

Going W of city 6 lets us share a cottage with the capital too, but it means an extra jungle to cut down. It could work, but I feel like we want to be working the cows early rather than the rice.
I'd settle on the copper if it was contested, but we shouldn't have any trouble that close to Agincourt and a 5 hammer tile seems too good to waste. It would let us share more cottages around though...
Luckily we have a while to decide yet.
