[SPOILERS] Team EggHeads: DMOC and TeddyKGB (Now Lurker-Friendly!)

I was thinking about fun suited slogan we could add to our title:

Team Eggheads: we can kill you with our brains.

It refers to Firefly TV series quote.
As I said, english not my first language, so I kinda see whole thing as self irony, not snobism. Maybe I'm wrong and other teams won't like it? What you guys think?

I would like to help our team in C&D department, so please, take an F9 and other relevant screenshots while you log in.

I have no expirience beside reading other PB/PBEM threads, but I have time and wanna be useful to our team. I was gonna use data from Inner Workings of the Demographics Screen (thx for the link, DMOC).
Is it the same for 3.19 as well?

As for my initial thoughts on settling that I've promiss to complete, think we'll discuss it after game started. Should be soon, I guess.

When the game will be started and we move our scout, this post could be pretty useless.
I have some arguments and thoughts about our possible progress into the game T55-75, but its kinda hard to me to structurise it in one post quick.

Part 2: PH vs SIP major pros and cons (*not completed*)
Compairing PH vs SIP it comes basicly to

PH:
+ Boosted start with more Food/Hammers and keep parity on techs complition turn (Hunt, AH, Mining).
+ Around 70 (food/hammers) more on T38 compared to SIP sim when DMOC finished Wb.
+ More 70h is huge. Means more Workers and Warriors for spawnbust/security. Means faster Settlers. Snowball.
+ 1 turn faster 2nd city.
+ BW on T41 if delay Agri and go Hunt>AH>Mine>BW. Its possible we need Agri for 2nd city crop improvement, but we'll need it if we SIP too. Our goal is Pottery and Writing, I know. But Pottery could be researched even a bit faster if we skip Fishing than SIP and go ...>Mine>Fish>BW>Agri>Pottery. Turn we researched Pottery woul be pretty much the same, I guess, except SIP plant would +1 tech - Fishing. If we dont need Agri, could be worse for PH plant, but I doubt there will be no crop resources to city#2 on final map.
+ So in case we could land BW sooner it means more production by chop/whip, faster new cities, more production, snowball.
+ We maintain production in the capital by 4-2 or 5-3 whip cicles. 1st or 2nd of which should be set up to max overflow into 1 turn EXP granary. Depends on Pottery ETA.

SIP:
- SIP has more beakers from the start due 1turn delay of PH planting. We can compensate it with micro, so Hunt, AH and Mining would research exactly same EOT. We can get BW faster on PH, cause we don't need Fishing. But once Fish is netted we'll be lagging behind with research on PH plant.
- Research time is a very important issue cause we are against 7 FIN and start with only one tech (Myst is useless).
- Once Fish is hooked and SIP grow to 5, PH will be loosing food/hammers as well. Whip cicles could compensate a bit, but SIP could go on whip cicles as well, with better results, just several turns later.
- ... more cons ...

I agree with what you wrote, though I may want to double check on the math. I suggest you just re-post a full analysis once we can see the real starting location (which should be soon!).

I've never heard of the Firefly series, but "kill you with our brains" may have a hint of snobism, i.e. eliteness of thinking you're smarter than the other teams. Perhaps we shouldn't go there. wink I'm not very creative with Team Slogans, though, so I don't have a good theme in mind.

I hope we can reference to that CivFanatics article. I don't see anything in this list that causes a change in demographics from 3.17 to 3.19. It would definitely be great to have help in the C & D department. goodjob

Just for fun, I decided to get an early head start in the demographics by looking at the power for the civilizations. This will be the starting power for all teams right after they settle in place. Remember, each team starts with a SCOUT, without regard to whether they have Hunting or not, so that means the Scout contributes zero to the military rating (while a warrior would contribute 1000). Hunting and Mining both provide 2000 power, while The Wheel contributes 4000 power. The complete list, for reference:

2000 soldiers – Sailing, Hunting, Mining, Animal Husbandry
4000 soldiers- Wheel, Alphabet, Astronomy, Metal Casting, Compass, Construction, Steel, Radio, Satellites
5000 soldiers- Composites, Stealth
6000 soldiers- Mathematics, Chemistry, Combustion, Archery
8000 soldiers- Guilds, Fission, Flight, Bronze Working, Machinery, Assembly Line
10000 soldiers- Horseback Riding, Iron Working, Artillery, Industrialism, Rocketry, Advanced Flight, Laser
12000 soldiers- Gunpowder, Rifling, Military Science

1. Team Eagles & Condors - Kurumi / HBHR (with Oxyphenbutazone dedlurking); POWER = 0.
2. Team Dinosaurs - Whiteye / Raptorous; POWER = 2000.
3. Team Master and Margarita - Slaze / Maga_R (with Jovan Kukic dedlurking); POWER = 4000.
4. Team ??? - Bowsling / Aivoturso; POWER = 2000.
5. Team Orgynized - Lord Parkin / Arkipeller / Magno_uy (with WilliamLP and Dp101 dedlurking); POWER = 0.
6. Team Blame Caledorn - YossarianLives / Caledorn (with Scooter, Old Harry and Cheater Hater dedlurking); POWER = 0.

Thx for C&D update.

Here our start position and what we know of our land so far. All fogged tiles remain ice, cause it could be changed.

I believe scout move is decided, but let's read the fog quick after log in. Doubt we want to change 1-7, but who knows.

If anyone need a save file to run some sims, I did a new one with prorer civs, using donut script like above and game settings what we aware of. Plan to update it as real game progress with scouted tiles update and simulate contacts with other teams for proper known tech bonuses if we could C&D it right before Alphabet.

Offtopic: DMOC, if you are into SciFy you should totally watch Firefly. Or at least watch the pilot episode to see if you like it or not. It's kinda funny with good dialogs and characters interaction.

It's kinda messy and it ends on T32, when Settler completed. I've posted screenshots of this sim here. Will try to improve it once we scout the fog.

Here WB file for sims. You can use it with mod or not. I'll update it after scout move.
Unzip in to ...\My Games\Beyond the Sword\Saves\WorldBuilder folder and run custom scenario.

Logged in, but the game crashed on me and gave me a popup saying that I had no disc in the drive?? Will try again but I thought 3.19 means you don't need a disc anymore.

EDIT: So classical_hero settled in place. Interesting to know. By the way, here's the other spreadsheet I was talking about (in attachments). Can you put this in our Google drive and add the lovely colors? smile

EDIT again: Okay, so it looks like I might actually need the CD to play this. frown Will have to go find out wherever the heck I stored it a few years ago.
