Congrats Jowy!
I watched the start of that game, the invade pretty much won it, even without getting a kill. Didn't help that the Fizz and Jarvan were weak however (shouldn't really lose Fizz vs Kha mid). Your bot was stronger, but was balanced out by their Rumble being much better. I'm beginning to dislike supporting Ezreal as ADC, always feels weak.
Lucian patch seems to have brought out an inordinate amount of trolls on EUW, just lost 3 games in a row of afk Diamond Vs, a troll duo (don't tend to see many of those) and a Rammus top lane after a Lee Sin changed his mind and decided he'd rather jungle than lane, and that's not including the Shaco mid game I won earlier.
But moaning aside, the occasional good or fun game makes up for it. How often, when the endgame post match dissection and calls for reports on the feeders occur, do you hear the enemy jungler blame the opposition support for his failures? I present to you, the Incredible Counter-ganking Janna! Full story: the Twitch did a nice level 3 submarine all-in on Vayne, didn't kill her, but sent her back to base. I wandered to drag to ward, saw the Malphite chasing our low health Jarvan and Amumu who had just tower dived Swain, couple of flashes later, double buffs for meeee! xD Fun stuff, anyway, rest of the game was a stomp. Twitch nerf maybe justified, he's still strong in lane. Lucian seems to be about "right", so credit to Riot for releasing him around on par. Only possible criticism is his ult cd, at level 3 it's 50s without cdr, throw a bit in and you're looking at a 30s(ish) ult, which for the dmg and maneuverability provided is maybe a little too strong. If a champion feels "right" on the day of release when no one knows how to play him, then he's almost certainly overpowered. I still remember the consensus in General Discussions that Elise, Zed, etc. were weak on release. Lucian will likely start to get nerfed in about six weeks after the pros demonstrate what can be done. Probably has smh to do with how people are generally building ezreal, and turning him into more supportish ADC with decent poke.

Decided to learn a new lane/champ, so went with top and Nasus (plus it doesnt help that Fizz is virtually permaban nowadays). I've always enjoyed playing Nasus, but never properly understood how to deal with the various matchups and top lane in general. Turns out the two key points are creep mechanics and not dying (shocking I know). Whereas in mid or bot dying twice is not good but still salvageable, dying twice in top lane virtually decides the lane. Anyway, only took me two promo attempts this time around, couple of interesting games during that time: Random fact of the day: Zac cannot use Smite while in his passive form, as one enemy found out today when I smote him with my Siphoning Strike rather than hitting Baron with it. |
