Yes, it's been fun (despite our game-long climb from the bottom ). I learned some valuable stuff here that helped me especially in the early stages of PB9.

I decided to hit Rifling, 2-turns., I don't trust the bits this NAP is coded with. Now let's see, desperation is a moot point, and prestige is too. I'm considering just mailing off this:

I swapped Havana to Merchants, got a Great Scientist. More importantly, Old Harry messaged me:

Hi guys,

Just thought I'd give you a heads up that we're going to get hit by Trolls in a big way on t201. I'd really appreciate it if you'd let us know if you see any stacks of their boats near your coast.

We're hoping we can hold out long enough that you, TEAM or M3 can get involved, but I guess that's probably wishful thinking.

I assume they aren't renewing their NAP? I haven't seen any boats. Have you messaged M3 and TEAM yet?

Well we haven't really talked about it, but I don't see why they would renew - they have the tech and production advantage. The others have NAPs with Trolls to t210 and t220, so we'd have to hold out for a long time...

Current draft:

We have a rolling NAP with a 10-turn cooldown, but that's so ancient that I don't really trust it.

Decided to send off that question to the Trolls, why not?

Consider activating cool down period with Trolls? Our land would be impossible for them to keep, surrounded by 2 other rivals. I don't like just sitting be and watching Trolls crush the primary opposition ... But then again my foreign relations leaning isn't the most peaceful

Actually, we weren't planning to invade you until T230 or so. Would you like a NAP until then (instead of our rolling NAP)?

We need to militarize. It's clear the Trolls are looking at invading M3 and TEAM T210 and T220, leaving us for last. I can actually see a 10-turn invasion working for them. Pretty obvious we swap into Nationhood LIKE RIGHT NOW, pick up Steel, then start saving cash for either upgrades or Machine Guns.

Next order of business, how to do this. I think we should accept the T230 NAP, then break it T210 and try to have surprise. Yes, breaking NAPs is 'unethical,' but it's a non-binding sequence of bits! A mutual agreement to not build military on each other, not some stone tablet.

And yes, the Trolls could be lying to us. CURSE YOU WIFOM!

Trolls: I'll be ready to invade the Pirates T230 after polishing off the rest of the teams, so I'll offer an NAP with them until then so they don't dogpile me. If they don't accept the NAP, no sweat, I just invade them before TEAM/M3. But I'd rather save them for last, since (whichever's NAP expires T210) will also declare, and a two front-war is a headache.

...I don't think they're lying.

Finally, dial up M3/TEAM:

Gillette told us that the Trolls are most likely invading them T200, and that you have NAPs to T210 and T220. Trolls have offered us an NAP until T230. It's clear that Trolls are planning on defeating us one by one.

We propose that we all immediately prepare for war, and declare war on the Trolls T210, disregarding all NAPs.

Great Scientist popped. I'm planning on just abandoning the remaining GPP in Sale and swapping back to Nationhood/Slavery/Theocracy.
