WW27 Game Thread: Once there were 12

If we no-lynch on day 1, we would be guaranteed three more lynches *after* that before we're at LyLo.

I guess I'm off by one here, the point was that we could lose the game straight up after three mislynches, but doing a no lynch on the first day gives us more time without costing us a mislynch. Mattimeo's rule of thumb is really what I'm getting at - odd numbers favor town, even numbers favor scum.

Now let's talk about something else.
If you know what I mean.

Nothing else jumped out at me to comment on yet. Placing a vote on the new guy to get comments I dont see as remarkable in either way.

I have just realised there is no Rowain or Lewwyn in this game and am now wondering who I will end up fighting with frown

Well, I disagree that it's anti-town. And I don't think you should expect scum to run around making anti-town suggestions, either.

Clearly. Jowy.

Jowy was (obviously) a joke, but I want to get some input from classical_hero early. I've played with him before (at CFC) and he's quite quiet even there, so I want to get some pressure early.
I don't think zak's post was scummy - its a nice idea that he brought up and dismissed immediately, its not really worth the discussion, though it is day 1. I basically ignored MJW's theory lol
@Serdoa, I don't think we've ever seen that sort of scenario, and I don't think it would actually happen - people wouldn't let more then one day/night phase, people are too eager for blood.

It's a real possibility, I was kind of sweating as a GM in WW23 since there was a no kill by scum there, and a no lynch by town would have been a possible reaction. My rules didn't address the possibility so I would have had to make up a rule on the spot about a certain number of consecutive no kills/no lynches leading to a draw. Banning "no lynch" is an easier rule.

Anyway. I thought JKaen contradicted himself just now, but maybe not, after rereading. So in the interest of bandwagonning, Jowy.
I have to run.

Messed up my quote in the above post, obviously Q wrote this. The JKaen quote link is to the post where JKaen possibly didn't contradict himself.
I have to run.

Played a few games with him on CFC, and he barely contributes by those standards, let alone RB's mammoth spamalot games. Happy to change if he shows signs of being able to contribute sufficiently though.

Yeah, 10 posts in 6 days is bad, we want to avoid that here. I do believe in giving him a chance to contribute though.
@novice, I don't think either side would let it last for long though - while its a chance of happening once, I doubt very much it could cripple the game like you say. Not that I particularly miss the option though. What was the post that you thought contradicted?

He thought my post #17 may have been, but then decided it wasn't. No idea what part of my post he was unsure of however

Maybe the whole lynching discussion was misinterpreted. Possibly with a earlier and/or later post? Evidence points to later if he was posting them concurrently.
Rereading,
MJW (post 6) Wrote:The best play would be to vote lynch every other day to avoid a mod-kill. And lynch someone who vote lynches someone. I know your joking because doing that (not lynching to make the lynches random) is too metagameish.
Why would this be best? Wouldn't it just make the village less active, even if wolves were non killing, which I doubt, and less likely to actually catch a wolf because of less lynching? Zak was advocating a night 1 start, but I don't get where you were going.
