Demographics for turn 4:
Exploration:
No new resources. Suggest we move Hugh 1SE-1S next turn, onto the hill I've marked. That should reveal quite a lot of tiles around the Gold.

Ah right, should have guessed from the context.

The Colossus will get a bit of a boost too, which in turn makes the Oracle a bit better (assuming the civ grabs MC).

Excellent idea! Suggestions for the first Worker? Perhaps Octopussy?

Indeed, can add that to the list.

Okay, I understand.

Yeah, I suspect that was intentional. No rush, but we'll probably want to connect them up later in the game.

It's good to know, thanks for pointing it out.

Yep, I just hadn't recognized the spelling earlier.

Honey Ryder from Dr. No was the first movie Bond Girl right?
Then again, your day job is shooting lasers are the moon so you have more practical experience at these things.

Demographics for turn 5:
Exploration:
No resources revealed to the west of the Gold, unfortunately.
We have a choice as to where to move Hugh next turn. We could send him 1SE-1S, where he'd get extra vision across a lake but would end his movement on flatland. Alternatively we could move him 1E-1SE to end up on the hill next to the Gold. Should really double check when barbarian animals can start spawning - anyone recall off the top of their head?

A nice quick turnaround for once.
Demographics for turn 6:
Exploration:
A Crab! But unfortunately just out of range of the Gold. Let's hope we'll reveal some other source of food in the next couple of turns.
Next turn we switch to working the grassland-forest, then the following turn we'll have our Work Boat done and start working the Fish while producing a Worker.
Scout 1SE-1S onto the forested hill next turn? Or 1SE-1NE onto flatland?

Interestingly, classical_hero got a score increase this turn. That could only happen if he started out researching either Hunting or Fishing, while working a 1+ commerce tile. Most likely if the starts are similar, he worked the equivalent of our river Sheep (3f/1c), which would make sense if producing a non-Expansive Worker.

That reminds me, let's check the starting techs:
Agriculture - 6 (Eagles & Condors, M & M, Bowsling, Orgynized, Blame Caledorn, Cannibal Pony)
Fishing - 4 (Eagles & Condors, Dinosaurs, Orgynized, Gladiator's Glory)
Mining - 3 (Dinosaurs, Care Bears, Gladiator's Glory)
Mysticism - 3 (Blame Caledorn, Care Bears, EggHeads)
Wheel - 3 (M & M, EggHeads, Cannibal Pony)
Hunting - 1 (Bowsling)
So six teams probably started with Worker builds, while four teams probably started with Work Boat builds (well, at least one definitely did ).
Also, I just noticed soldiers went up in-between turns, so the tech researched by Cannibal Pony must have been Hunting.

Scout whatever has the highest probability of revealing food for the gold.

I hate to say it but the west looks a little uninspiring to me. That lake would be fantastic if there were a spot to work it with a lighthouse, but I don't think there is?
The east looks more interesting right now, with the forests and grass river network.
