Just a quick comment: I think our scout should sit in place as our settling plans become more complicated already if one barb warrior appears. And didn't yurimack come from that direction, so it might be that huts are already taken there, maybe not though.. crazyeye

I wonder if we should get AH for horses and cheap archery that we can 1-pop whip bowman if required.. Early maths would of course be nice, but getting "real defenders" out will probably be necessary fairly soon. IIRC, the maximum speed that barbs get new techs is 3 % per turn. So if people got BW on average around T30, barb axes start appearing approximately ~T63. Probably a bit later though.. And this is all just stuff that I think I have read somewhere..

Turn 46

Lunch fortifies himself for the long wait. He will spend centuries in his jungle vantage point keeping these bounteous lands free from invaders.

Our workers put 40 hammers into the Settler who we'll whip next turn. I've switched BoP to a warrior - the plan is to whip the worker once the city reaches size 2 again, finish the warrior and build a baracks (possibly the other way around).

Archery is a 4-turn tech for us at the moment, I wouldn't mind having bowmen available - if we do that we can delay hooking the copper and use the worker turns to set up cities 3 and 4 instead. I don't think we need AH for a while yet though - our opponents aren't nearby, we have copper available and could have bowmen fairly quickly if we felt threatened... I've left it on writing for now, as we already have some beakers invested, but shout if you want to change.

Demos - we'll have graphs on Yuri next turn popcorn

Regarding tech I can not decide: I kind of want to gamble and skip even cheap military techs, but having one bowmen for killing barb warriors (and later axes) could be a solid investment! crazyeye

What are our worker moves next turn? One of them goes to a forest W of grassland hill and begins to road (covered by our warrior?) and one starts a grassland hill mine?

And btw, what is the state of our latest sandbox? It seems that I'm finally going to have more time to devote for this game... mischief And that amazing #6 ranking in crop yield is giving me motivation.. lol

EDIT: And we are exactly at rival average in food+mfg. eek

EDIT 2: Although those numbers are rounded down, so I guess we are still a bit below the average...

I've written up a micro plan to circa t58, essentially its:

A: Settler - warrior - granary (to grow) - worker - granary (whip) - settler
B: Barracks (to grow) - worker (whip) - barracks(whip) - warrior - granary
C: Granary - library

We could replace the granaries in Agincourt or Bay of Pigs with MP units but once the gold is hooked (t65) we'll want quick growth everywhere and I haven't stacked much unhappy so I like the granary. We could also go settler instead of worker in Agincourt, but I think we'd be very short of good tiles to work if we did that. City four will settle around turn 63-4.

On tech path, my gut feeling from playing on a bit is that if we go for rice city fourth we should get iron working quick (possibly even before maths), and we shouldn't bother with archery because hooking the copper will be so easy. If we go for the plains cow city then we can go archery-maths and all the chops will come in with the bonus. Plains cow city also allows Agincourt to work more mines and perhaps a cottage or two, while rice city means it'll need to build settlers or workers due to food surplus.

Sounds good! Now we are already reaching the state of the game when there are a good bunch of different options. So once you have time (no hurry yet) let's start again comparing e.g. T58 or T65 screenshots and see which one of us comes ahead wink One of our targets is surely 5 functional cities ASAP.
