It's probably only viable with immediate Henge though, and even then the corn is so good it might be inferior not to get it improved ASAP. Yeah, I'm not saying it's a good idea, but just throwing it out there. The main thing sharing the sheep has going for it is allowing size two and working the gold earlier. But food is better than hammers empire-wide (dramatically so with granaries), and the corn is one of the best tiles in the game. (August 29th, 2013, 11:27)Dp101 Wrote: I vote 2nd city 1S of gold. Turn 9
Demographics Rival average life expectancy went up... a forest growth somewhere, perhaps? Exploration Hugh the Scout will most likely battle a Wolf next turn. Hopefully he'll win the battle with no damage, but we'll see. If he's damaged, shall we stop to heal? It's probably worth doing so as long as it's only a couple of turns to get back to full health. Looks like the next move should probably be 1SE-1NE onto yet another forest. Any alternative proposals? ![]() (August 29th, 2013, 08:04)Magno_uy Wrote: after worker and warrior?would be a second settler yeat? Could do - T25 is when we'll have to make a firm decision one way or the other. I suggest we wait a few more turns to explore a bit more around the capital (and also for Horses to be revealed). Once we're sure what the best position is for settling our second city, we can do sims comparing building an early Settler at size 3 vs building a second Worker first, and figure out what puts us in the best position a few dozen turns down the line. ![]() (August 29th, 2013, 11:27)Dp101 Wrote: I vote 2nd city 1S of gold. My gut feeling is that 1S of the Gold is likely to work out better than 1E of the Gold, but it's always worth testing in a sim to be sure. Also, it's possible we could reveal an even better spot to the east in the next 16 turns, so good to keep our options open. ![]() (August 29th, 2013, 12:28)WilliamLP Wrote: Yeah, I'm not saying it's a good idea, but just throwing it out there. Sometimes a choice that looks like it might be inferior on the surface can surprise you and actually turn out to be quite good. So definitely worth testing this stuff. ![]() (August 29th, 2013, 13:10)Arkipeller Wrote: Anyway: I won't make my opinion before we see all tiles at 3 tile radius of gold. Arki was joking, don't take offence. ![]() We'll probably decide where to settle based on who can get the best results in a sim, but if two different options turn out to be very similar we may well vote on which to choose. We'll certainly vote on what to name it anyway (right now I'm considering Katniss). No-one will have a Worker yet, but if other nations hooked up their seafood same as us then that would cause their health to increase. Was overlooking the most obvious contribution there. ![]()
For anyone else who didn't recognize the pictorial reference to us in the Story thread, I googled "goat surrounded by women" (filter very much on) and found this Wikipedia article. Kind of random...
