I guess, but the capital will probably want to be using that Sheep a fair chunk of the time. And a 10+ turn delay on hooking up the Corn isn't trivial either. Best to do a sim once we know more about the territory over there - still a chance (albeit slim) that we could reveal more resources within reach of the Gold next turn.

Yeah, I'm not saying it's a good idea, but just throwing it out there. The main thing sharing the sheep has going for it is allowing size two and working the gold earlier. But food is better than hammers empire-wide (dramatically so with granaries), and the corn is one of the best tiles in the game.

You don't got a vote...
Nobody even knows you are on this teammischief

Anyway: I won't make my opinion before we see all tiles at 3 tile radius of gold. There may be some resources we still havn't seen

Well, that's nice. I suppose I should stop offering my opinions then.

He's on the team page, and I think that ought to be good enough to cast a vote in a non-democratic process. lol

Turn 9

Demographics

Looks like the rival worst and rival average GNP have gone up. Also the rival best and rival average food went up at the same time. Presume that's partly due to other nations also finishing their Work Boats and working Fish tiles.

Rival average life expectancy went up... a forest growth somewhere, perhaps?

Oh, and for some reason, we apparently have the #1 city. Hooray for Hermione!

Exploration

No new resources revealed. Looking like 1S of the Gold is a pretty compelling position to settle, though it'll be worth testing 1E of the Gold too.

Hugh the Scout will most likely battle a Wolf next turn. Hopefully he'll win the battle with no damage, but we'll see. If he's damaged, shall we stop to heal? It's probably worth doing so as long as it's only a couple of turns to get back to full health.

Looks like the next move should probably be 1SE-1NE onto yet another forest. Any alternative proposals? smile

I think it could also be health hooked up, either seafood or something along a river?

Could do - T25 is when we'll have to make a firm decision one way or the other. I suggest we wait a few more turns to explore a bit more around the capital (and also for Horses to be revealed). Once we're sure what the best position is for settling our second city, we can do sims comparing building an early Settler at size 3 vs building a second Worker first, and figure out what puts us in the best position a few dozen turns down the line. smile

My gut feeling is that 1S of the Gold is likely to work out better than 1E of the Gold, but it's always worth testing in a sim to be sure. Also, it's possible we could reveal an even better spot to the east in the next 16 turns, so good to keep our options open. smile But somewhere around the Gold will certainly be a very high priority spot for sure.

Always good to have alternative options in mind. Sometimes a choice that looks like it might be inferior on the surface can surprise you and actually turn out to be quite good. So definitely worth testing this stuff. smile

Alas, unfortunately no more resources within range of the Gold. frown

Arki was joking, don't take offence. smile

We'll probably decide where to settle based on who can get the best results in a sim, but if two different options turn out to be very similar we may well vote on which to choose. We'll certainly vote on what to name it anyway (right now I'm considering Katniss).

Oh right, that's more likely to be the case. No-one will have a Worker yet, but if other nations hooked up their seafood same as us then that would cause their health to increase. Was overlooking the most obvious contribution there. smile

For anyone else who didn't recognize the pictorial reference to us in the Story thread, I googled "goat surrounded by women" (filter very much on) and found this Wikipedia article. Kind of random...
