Soul Edge
Elementalist/Warrior, play as elementalist who likes to get up close with mobs to use AoE skills and makes the team monk's life difficult.
Current plan:
Fire 12
Earth 10
Energy Storage 6
Air/Water/Tactic/Hammer 6 (haven't decided)
In the process of rushing him to Lion's Arch to get the guild hall.
Soulie of Realms
Monk/Mesmer, play as healer that runs like headless chicken around the tank player when attacked.
Plan to concentrate in Healing Prayer, Devine Favour, Illusion.
Currently still in pre-Searing, am going slow with her and hopefully will be able to always be in RB guild game to get group dynamic going for possible future PvP actions. 8)
Post your characters and plans!

I was going to make a Monk/Mesmer as well simply because I just have to make a female monk - I love the look of the default hair style, half shaved... which inspired the name Half Moon, or something along the line of "Dominique (for domination spells, which led to Mesmer) Halfmoon".
But I made Half Moons Monk/Nec last night, kind of a Yin Yang thing. She hasn't done anything yet, I will brush up on monk/nec stuff when I do lunch. Almost named her Mary (quite contrary) Halfmoons :P
Anyway, got Demi to post searing running with SoulFalyer, but I am sad to say I am still clueless, and so so so directional challenged! I want to have one character to solo pre searing slowly so I can actully look around. I think I can manage it if I don't sleep for the next 2 days ;p Then I should be able to run with the big boys.

I know you only have Mon/Tues off. Are you thinking of playing GW instead of BN team on Tues for a while?
I have GW as well so it's no biggie for me either way.

Personally, I don't really like all those quests in pre-Searing, a bit grindy for my taste. I did most of them with Soul Edge just to explore the pre-Searing map and get a feel of the quests.
Doing most quests in pre-Searing gets us to about clvl 7 or 8, personally I find leaving pre-Searing at about clvl 3 is more fun, so that I don't feel over-leveled for the missions in post-Searing. Also, the items the various collectors have in exchange are easily obtainable from drops, the one that give belt in exchange is worth doing though.
I do all the quests that give skills as reward, I like to have a wide selection of skills. 8)

Half Moons just finished the Cat and should just hit lvl 5 after she finds and get her free skill at Green Hill, then she is going Post'al. IIRC, Demi is only lvl 3 at Post Searing.
I think I have got the basic game working down, enough to travel with others without feeling too much a noob. It is 6 am here and I am going to sleep ;p Lets see who is available to start Post when I awake.
Speaking of skills... Should one take new free skills when they replace your previous free skills, especially when the new skills are what your (will be) secondary profession uses? Example, Just before diving in the catacomb, the Necro quest giving npc offered Half Moons Mo/Nec a set of necro skills, but it replaced 4 Mes skills. I don't quite understand how the skill acquiring system works yet, I am just wondering if I would come out ahead if I refused the freebie necro skills and learn it after the "secondary profession" quest is completed.

I can only do that on Friday and Saturday, and only by doing that will I have a better chance of meeting most of you.

From what I understand, if we have not accepted a secondary class, doing the other secondary class quest will replace the existing secondary class skills that we have. Since we can only have skills of two classes, I can't see how you will come out ahead.
Oh, I do recommend getting the necro skills if you know that will be the secondary class for your character and you no longer want to try the other class, and to accept the secondary class so that you can do the other necro quest and get more necro skills. Class quest givers will be able to point you to the other class trainers, there should be at least two trainers per class in pre-Searing.
If we have accepted the secondary class, and come upon class quest giver that give us skills, we can choose to replace the skills with the ones we have selected (if already at max of 8, else the skills will go to free skill slots), or we can cancel to not replace the existing skills, we still learned those new skills and can select them when we are in town/outpost.
