Yes, that's right, I went 3-3-0 again. This is getting eerie! .500 ain't bad, but it ain't good, either! Also, even when I predict against myself, I still get it wrong...jeez.
The Pony Express (-6, Kuro) vs. Portland Pindis (Pindicator)
Pindicator's record is undefeated, but he hasn't been crushing his opponents, so it might not be as good as it appears. This is a lot different than last week, as Kuro's roster has undergone quite a large overhaul, with Lynch and Gore in and Megatron out!
Tom Brady has been disappointing on the Express' side of the ball, but the Atlanta defense has also been quite horrible, 21st in the league and only really good against Miami. With Gronk quite possibly returning this week, though it is iffy, the Falcons are allowing a lot of TD passes, so Brady doing good is a nice bet. Lynch against Houston is a tough MU, though, but Lynch will get his carries...and Gore, coming off a very good but underutilized week, faces a Rams defense that was simply demolished on the ground last week and has not looked great against it, fantasy-wise, most of the year. New Orleans Pass D has been good so far, but I don't buy it: Far more likely, it has been good because they've faced the Cardinals (Who are led by the corpse of Carson Palmer and only have Fitz as a true weapon, though Mendenhall is okay) and Tampa Bay (Where I get depressed that Freeman sucked so bad so as to lose his job, because I liked him). Facing an improving Ryan Tannehill, I expect Hartline to have a double digit day. Edelman faces a team that has given up at least 21 points each game to wideouts and will get fed Brady targets even if Gronk returns, so he is also a good bet to succeed. Throw in favorable days for Bernard Pierce and Antonio Gates, not to mention the Seahawks against an Andre-less Texans, and it's looking good for these guys.
But Pindicator has a lot of life in his team as well! RGIII is facing a soft Oakland D that, because his own defense has been so rancid, could turn into a high-point shootout, while #1 ranked RB LeSean McCoy (I admit being totally wrong on him!) faces the 27th ranked Denver D. MJD faces an Indianpolis r un D that hasn't been too great, but has been worryingly unable to generate yardage due to the Jaguars anemic offense, so he could be TD-or-bust. And Eric Decker against the Eagles D? Yummy, unless Pindicator jinxes himself again: Though S-John against the Ravens is not as good a matchup as it appears, as aside from the total meltdown in Denver, the Ravens D has allowed 20 points over the other 2 games to wideouts. I think the big blow for Pindicator comes at the bottom end of his roster, as Cook faces a D that has been stout against TEs and he either has V-Jax against a good Arizona D (against wideouts, anyway) or, what, Lamar Miller in what looks to be a passing shootout? If the bottom half of his roster overperforms, he can definitely win on the strength of some big days, but I think that the Express is more likely here.
Pick: The Pony Express (-6)
Gaspar Werewolves (+14, Gaspar) vs. Noble Nitpickers (NobleHelium)
Stinker alert! This match has an unusually low predicted points total, with 80 for Gaspar and 94 for the Nitpickers. Fortunately, they're fighting each other, so it's fine!
It's not hard to see why Gaspar has such a low predicted total: He's only even gone to 80+ once week and his roster is looking pretty decimated. Vick against the Broncos looks fine, given the Broncos average defense against average QBs, but C.J. Spiller has been an intense disappointment, with only 14 points (11 of which came in one game!) to his name up to this point. Add in Fred Jackson rushing well and the fact the Ravens have squished the run this year and while CJ2K has been pretty good, he faces the 3rd best run D so far...and it isn't exactly undeserved, as they've faced Doug Martin, Spiller + Jackson and Ridley + Backups. Combined with Shorts, who had a single good game that came against the Seahawks backups, and a Hopkins facing the #1 WR defense, possibly without Andre to take pressure off him, and you've got a recipe for disaster this week, even with +14. My advice, buddy? Santonio Holmes will probably outscored DeAndre this week and try to find some talent to help out Cobb/Vick, be it through trades or copious FA scouring. Ingram does not a fantasy team make.
The Nitpickers have a lot better roster to look at, for sure: While I'd quickly switch Vernon for Daniels, DeMarco is coming off a huge week and has otherwise been consistant, while Wayne gets a nice matchup and A.J. Green is the second best wideout in the game (Underperforming and still 7th in points!). While he could also definitely use a better Flex play than Sidney Rice, he simply has more talent and slightly better matchups this week almost across the board. When I'm afraid the opponent will be hard pressed to crack 70-80, I've got to take the opposition even -14.
Pick: Noble Nitpickers (-14)
Team Bruce (+2, Sir Bruce) vs. The Fox Says It's Tuel Time (Wetbandit)
Ben Roethlisburger at QB? All the FA picks on the wire for Rodgers bye week and you go after a guy who didn't break double digits one game and only just broke 15? Arian Foster is good, but he has been BLEEDING carries to Ben Tate, has not run as well as usual and faces a Seahawks D that has only allowed double digit points to RBs once this year...and that was the Jags facing the backups! But on the flipside, the rest of the roster is very solid, as Run DMC could run to daylight against a shredded Redskins D, Torrey Smith has been very consistant and is likely to big play against bad Buffalo and Pierce Garcon faces the Raiduhs. Bilial Powell also looks good against Tennesse and Gronk looks like, if he plays, Atlanta is a great place to start...and even if something happened, like Ivory getting the start, Boldin isn't bad to bring in on an emergency. Nice team, if it had a QB. (If only Rodgers wasn't on a Bye!)
The fox might say it is tuel time, but the game says it is Russell Wilson time, as he faces a Houston D that bottled up everyone but Philip Rivers. Not to worry, though, Adrian Peterson is facing the Steelers, so there are plenty of points to be had! And, lucky for Wetbandit, the Packets D/ST is on Bye: Even if they got 21 points last week, though still allowing 34 points, I'm going to take the -4 points they had before that total as more evocative of their true talent level. At the same time, Joique Bell with a possible Reggie Bush being back vs. the #2 Rush D and Fred Jackson in a timeshare vs. #1 don't inspire a lot of confidence. But on the other hand, Dez Bryant/Graham/Welker with elite matchups is staggering...
I'll admit, this was a very hard one to choose, because both sides have a lot of potential, but I think that Wetbandit has the more consistant team and his guys could explode for more...but either guy could win this. I'll go with Wetbandit, but not with a whole lotta confidence.
Pick: The Fox Says It's Tuel Time (Wetbandit)
Baltimore Blue Jays (EVEN, Cyneheard) vs. Team Scooter (scooter)
Want a bad weekly RB situation? Cyneheard this week is getting pissed all over: Ray Rice could be inactive and, if not, could be quite limited, Isiah Pead is out and he doesn't have a single other starter because DeAngelo is on a Bye and Montee Ball can't hold on to anything. I don't exactly like the Cowboys here, because they have not forced many turnovers past game 1 and seem to consistantly be in the bottom of yards given up (Thus increasing the odds of a BIG IMPLOSION), so...yeah. Demaryius having 14 yards since week 1 isn't encouraging for an explosion, but he DOES face the Eagles, while Antonio Brown's production basically all came from last week...is Denarius Moore the true WR2 this week?
On Scooter's end, he has to deal with a rough WR situation of Andre in an unenviable spot all around, though Julio may as well be Probable, and Bush's matchup isn't exactly nice. Moreno against the Eagles, especially since he'll be out there when they pass, seems pretty legit, and the Colts D is a great play vs. the Jags. With Cyneheard's RB woes, I prefer Scooter.
Pick: Team Scooter (EVEN)
Stamford Cyberams (David Corporiel, EVEN) vs. Norfolk and Chance (Twinkletoes)
Peyton Manning vs. the Eagles? Charles against the Giants? Josh Gordon suceeding despite being thrown the ball by Hoyer? Things are looking up for the Rams this week! They could still use a lot of help on the wideout front, nobody should have to trot out Thompkins every week and the Giants offense is an offmess (Though Nicks has talent), but if Gordon can still do good...it is looking up for them. David Wilson, though? Not looking up very much: A guy who has scored 1 point in 3 weeks and has not looked good doing it is not my definition of a good guy to go against a T10 defense. You might end up wanting to swap him out with someone else!
Norfolk and Chance here just picked up Megatorn, but the cost to Twinkle's RB corps was severe, as Gio Bernard faces a Browns D that has stopped yards...but Bernard's paydirt has been TDs, whch the Browns have allowed at least one of each game. Fitzgerald has been about as disappointing as I'd figure, basically just eating up the Rams and that is it, because Carson Palmer is throwing him the ball and they have nothing else to do. Megatron will have to deal with more doubleteams with Burleson gone and is now dealing with a knee aliment...but he is Megatron facing a Bears D that keeps getting shredded by wideouts, so I'm not worried. I AM worried about Ryan Matthews, a guy I disliked going into the year and who has not produced. He's losing goal line carries to RONNIE BROWN! On the plus side, the Chiefs D/ST could score 20 again against the Giants...
But I think Manning and Charles can carry the Rams this week and I am worried about guys like Fitz, Matthews and the fact Luck could be handing the ball off at halftime when he already makes few pass attempts. Cyberams!
Pick: Stamford Cyberams (EVEN)
Bench Brady And (-5, Sunrise) vs. Beijing Lewd Lobbers (Lewwyn)
Oh, we've gotten to the Lewwyn matchup? Guess we know who is scoring the most this week! Kidding, kidding...
But in all seriousness, Sunrise is bringing in guys like Morris vs. Oakland, Forte vs. Detroit, Witten vs. San Diego and a good Bengals D matchup, so he has some good chances, though trotting out Arizona Floyd at WR2 gives you a good idea of why this team is 1-2. Lewwyn trots out Tony Romo against a bad D and Trent Richardson, but Le'Veon Bell probably doesn't do too much his first game back...but Marshall/DeSean look like a good 1-2 punch and Colston is very consistant, so while Gonzo might not go gonzo, he has a good week ahead. I think I'll take the decent +5 with Lewwyn due to the poor wideouts on Sunrise's side. And sorry this is so short: The game starts soon and I wanted this out and I need to go make food for it!

Yeah, totally didn't check this at work today. Oops.
