So the village to my southeast is a fecund source of gold; I’ll be able to run 100% to Pottery at least and maybe Animal Husbandry, also seen here is ivory now inside my borders when the happiness is needed. Thoth is poking around to the southwest but seems content with not pushing in, I’ll return the favor.
Here is the local area at large, along with some planned cities.
Krill owns the majority of our border, Thoth and I can split it evenly…I’d like to seize the majority of the Scooterian Divide.

Why are you not resettling the razed city? Do you think it was a bad location after all?

-I win the near hill with my capital's third ring so I can have eyes on Krill's city.
-I have the units to defend it.
-I have Writing and can chop in a 4cpt Maddrassa.

nothing is offensive to Krill. If he can kill it he will, end ethos.
if you replant with a defender, the city will stand. you still need a border up there unless you want a front-lines capital.

Although someone else is flashing *real* units...
