I believe you should delay the RIDICULOUS CITY site until you can easily land some culture in it, in fact I would settle a city 3e for the pig first before it (and one to the south that shares the sheep and picks up the corn earlier also, planted one w of the sign).

I believe you should delay the fish/gold city - getting any food in it will be very slow with having to build a work boat and its inferior to a lot of the land food sites around you, and waiting for a lucky spread isn't a very safe tactic (although yes it is unlikely to land in the capital).
I believe that is unaffected by game speed.

Your probably right that I should delay the 4 food city. I do want that gold tile though for extra happiness I go explore the coastline and I'm hoping for a seafood closer to the gold so I can get it in the first ring.

(October 23rd, 2013, 14:35)BaII Wrote: How does the prerequisite bonus's for discovering techs work? I believe for every prerequisite tech I have the tech am i currently researching is 20% cheaper. But is it the same thing on normal speed?

The amount of raw beakers you generate is visible in the top left corner (13 in your last screenshot), add 1 free beaker and you produce 14 beakers before pre-req and known-tech multiples are taking into account.

If you have 1 pre-req tech, multiply 14 with 1.2, if you have two then multiply with 1.4 and so on. Then round down.

E.g in the last screenshot you are teching BW. Calculation goes like this:

(13+1)*1.2 = 16.8 --> you produce 16 beakers towards BW.

IIRC, known-tech bonus and pre-req bonus are taken into account in the same multiplier so if 1 opponent that you know has BW in a 5 person game, the equation is this:

14 * (1 + 0.2 + 0.3 * (1/5)) = 14 * 1.26 = 17.64 --> you get 17 beakers

BW came in and I've changed which order my cities will be settled. My 3rd citiy will grab the copper resource. My second city will grab myself a ivory resource as well as being able to work the corn south of my capital.

Pottery is coming in next so I can cottage some of the grassland rivers near my capital. One of my workers is going to chop out a 3rd worker while the other one is roading towards the next city. Also I'm the only person who grew his cap to size 3.

I think the initial site, which shares the sheep and picks us the corn and horse, should still go first as it will give the fastest start and we don't urgently need copper.
After that you can go for the happy or the copper, either work, though given we'd already have horse I'd suggest the ivory.

Yes the first city plant will be grabbing horses and corn, as well as sharing the deer resource. I'm not sure if we're going to need the happiness by the time the 2nd city founds. So I might try to grab the copper site as it has a strong production base. After looking over the first city site 1E of the horses instead of 2E of the horses. Since if they city is 1E of the horses it can share more cottages with city 6. And the cows will be needed to feed the hills I have at the copper site so it will not be likely to give away the cows often. And the city itself will not need culture for a long time.

Settler will be done next turn, and I am working the green hill to be able to 1 turn the warrior immediately afterwards. Once the Settler comes out I will instantly revolt to BW. I will put build a Worker after the warrior then grow to size 4 and double whip out another settler.

The city location was moved 1SW so it would be on the coast and not be 1 tile of it.

What about 2N of that site to grab the copper? I think NW is still better because of overlap with capital and short distance for reinforcing/improving, but up to you.
I'm not a fan of one off the coast, but it doesn't matter much for most of the game if there are only a few coast tiles.
