A little paintshop work shows how close we are to circumnavigating:
The boats are way farther north/south of each other than that, but that's how far they are east to west of each other. Hopefully within 5 turns we'll be the proud owner of 4-move galleys.
Notice how close we are to Currency? I did a little computing and found out that we only needed to get to 136 raw beakers. So I hired a scientist at Valiants and had our workers connect Bills to the empire so we'd get the extra commerce next turn:
We can split them up for chopping next turn.
And congratulations to dtay, for taking top spot on the scoreboard. I'm guessing he's also the one who built SoZ; maybe he can be a rival to mackoti long-term. There's always hope...

the Pelican pub and brewery near pacific city is all I have, along with the sights recommendations.

There's a lot of great spots worth mentioning, but these are the ones that have stuck with me
Oregon Coast:
+ Ft George in Astoria
+ Pelican in Pacific City
+ Rogue in Newport; they also have a brewpub in Portland
Portland:
+ Deschuttes - huge brewpub in the Pearl. If you're lucky they'll have the Abyss on tap when you visit, but it usually comes closer to Christmas.
+ H.U.B. - Hopworks Urban Brewing
+ Alameda Brewing - This one gets overlooked far too often. It's been around a while and I think people keep trying the new brewpubs and forget how great this one is when they put together their "best-of" lists. Also, the burgers here are solid and the wings are great.
+ Cascade Brewing - Sour Beers!
+ Hair of the Dog Brewing - more like barley wines than beer, most their stuff is over 10% ABV. But so very tasty.
+ Breakside Brewing
Columbia River Gorge:
+ Full Sail in Hood River
+ Double Mountain in Hood River
+ Everybody's Brewing in White Salmon (on the Washington side of the river)

Took a look around in-game. I have a proposal for Timbers:
I know we talked about getting a settler out of here since the tiles to grow onto are generally a lot less appealing compared to other spots. How about here when we hit size 3, we whip the archer, overflow into a settler, and chop that forest into the settler. The overflow + chop + 8fhpt should be enough for a 6-8T settler or so. That'll let us continue to go vertical in the cities that have nice tiles to grow onto and the happy to help us afford it. Thoughts?

I like the plan to whip Timbers, scooter. I put a sign for us to whip the city on t108. I almost whipped it this turn, because we'd have enough to grow to size 2 next turn, but it doesn't speed up the settler any and we gain more marble-tile turns by waiting.

We got Currency last turn and our GNP shot up. I think our max last turn was 137; this turn we get max beakers at 167. At break-even teching we're #2 in demo GNP. The plan for now is to build up some cash until that great scientist pops, then settle an academy -- in the capital? or at Tigers? -- and then turn on max tax to burn through to Code of Laws.
In the core we're chopping a settler out at Red Wings, whipping and chopping one at Timbers, and maybe chopping one in Bulldogs? Are we doing 3 settlers or just 2? We have enough spots for 3
