Seriously though, thanks for setting this up, Brick.

Yes to both.

I don't think MJW would throw this out as scum, if he didn't actually see the role PMs in the first post. Are you saying that he saw them, but decided to pretend that he didn't, since they were in a spoiler tag? Seems a bit unlikely to me.

IMO MJW tries every trick possible. Be it trying to get himself META-cleared as a villager or him trying to give the impression of that as scum.

If you think there won't be a night kill, there's even less reason to wait before we start posting.

Wrong,

Anything we say now the scum can discuss, anything we wait till day to talk about they cant consult about

Welcome, [Player Name], you are a Villager.
Abilities:
Your weapon is your vote, you have no night actions.
Win condition:
You win when all threats to the town have been eliminated and there is at least one town player alive.

I see MJW trying to clear himself by meta with this, but to be honest I don't see the big expansion of info he refers to, he only adds info to his case once the scum PM is posted.

I call bluff

One of us will likely be dead in a little over 12 hours. I don't see why we shouldn't just start talking and get some reads on each other. That will allow our doctor and seer to make more informed choices about their actions, at the cost of letting the mafia do... what exactly? I don't see why we have to stay quiet and let them focus exclusively on strategizing. I'd rather force them to start posting here. You (all of you) are giving mafia a carte blanche to lurk, for no clear reason.

I was thinking that it's quite hard to get any scum evidence or slip ups without votes in play, so it would be more likely that we just help scum to choose optimal target for night 0 kill. That comment was for the night 0, so I'm not generally against talking at night. I didn't realize the fact of giving our doctor a better chance to prevent the kill though, so it probably balances things.

Regarding MJW, while I agree that he could try a gambit like this as scum, I didn't get scum vibes from his posts, but more of an eager villager vibes.

Ok, I guess that's a valid point, Jkaen, although we aren't voting yet, and that's when the real pressure starts.

There would still be less reason to stay quiet if there was no night kill coming up, though. But it's good that you articulate your reasons for staying quiet. My "top suspect" at the moment is Meiz, for failing to do just that.

Previewing: I guess we're voting after all? smile

That was a crosspost with Meiz, too.

What are you getting at here? If he's scum he had access to the scum PM all along.

The only way to get any real read on people generally without it falling into waffle seems to be votes.

So yes my black vote doesnt count like a red one does, but it gives a better idea of who thinks who is suspicious if we do things this way i think (I have obvioulsy given into the consensus and agreed to talk)

Also, just to be perfectly clear. All of the PMs were in the initial post all along, under a spoiler tag. At least as far as I recall.
