I don't think mafia would be particularly eager to get people talking on night 0. I think they'd be content to lurk through the night if the mood seemed to allow it.

The point I was trying to say is that I don't think we can get much of scum reads without votes in play, but we could help scum to identify strong town players. Maybe I'm pessimistic. But I didn't realize that with doctor in play, we have a chance to help him get better chance at saving someone.

Outside the game, props to MJW if he really saw a chance to abuse the setup and didn't take it. Inside the game, implying that you have a way to meta clear yourself as a villager, but not actually doing it, is scummy. It's a method to get the townies thinking, sometimes even subconsciously, that he actually is cleared, even though he never presented his meta clear evidence. You can tell that it is working by a few people (Lewwyn, Meiz by a quick glance) thinking that MJW isn't scummy for doing what he did. I suppose there are different ways to look at things, but at least from my own point of view what MJW did is inherently scummy. Adding in his previous history of shameless meta clearing, it is a little weird, although a great showing of personal growth if true, that he would not take the chance to meta clear himself if he had one.

I've meta cleared myself before as villager and had that thought for a second when I saw my pm. I then quickly decided not to abuse it. So I can somewhat relate to MJW and see where he's coming for. But it looks like the PM's were posted there originally, so you'd have to think that scum MJW saw them and decided to make a play. I find that unlikely. Or if he didn't see them as scum, making a comment like he did is not safe at all.

I didn't see anything out of the ordi art with MJW. His posts are very MJW-esque. I don't see him as scum, but I'm also certainly not saying he's definitely innocent. I just don't see the argument given his antics are extremely in line with normal.

Internet is out on my computer. So weird. My wife's computer is working but mine can't resolve the ISP dns.

Here. I go to bed with the no talking suggestion and wake up to see six pages. Good job guys.

So far the case for MJW as a mafia seems weak. The case for MJW as a dumb distraction seems strong.

Are we meta-clearing MJW for a post where he refuses to exploit meta to clear himself? lol

I actually found his attempt to paint Zak in a bad light pretty scummy.

This did stand out. Novice you do realize the Ichabod case from two games ago keeps being made by this kind of thing right? Why is the dumb MJW attack on Zakalwe pretty scummy? It might seem amazing to you but other players in this game do sometimes see Zakalwe as a mafia possibility.

I am not saying I agree with his attack on Zakalwe. Or even can understand it without my head hurting. But I do not see it as pretty scummy.

Of course it is weak. We are at Night 0. What do you expect a strong case with clawprints and DNA-samples?

Why were you following the no-talk-suggestion?

Lewwyn, you could try Google's DNS as a workaround. https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/

Don't know if it works in China, though.

Happy to see some questions bouncing around. I was going to ask the same question as Rowain. I also wouldn't mind if Novice explains why MJW was scummy at the start of the day. And maybe MJW should explain what it was that Brick expanded on in the PMs.
If you know what I mean.

To be clear, this was the question I wanted to echo.
