3 FPs and wet grassland wheat bow

My thoughts: SIP gives us 1 extra hammer from plains hill, plus 5 hills (4 grassland!) in the BFC and a nice grassland furs to boot.

SIP: Work the flood plains into a worker for 7 fhpt (5/2) for either 8 turns no overflow (if EXP) or 9 turns with 3 h overflow.

Borders pop eot5

The 1 will have to wait for our scout to make some moves, but if we wanted to get rid of one of the regular plains tiles, gaining:

4-5 grassland and some non-lighthouse (bleh) coast, sacrificing some more grass and a plains tile plus hills

Some strong civ choices from what we can see here:

Zulu (Hunting/Farming) + good UU great UB <-- Taken by Seven/Krill
Persia (Hunting/Farming) +great UU ok UB
Babylon (Wheel/Farming) +defense UU meh UB
Ottomans (Wheel/Farming) +late UU awesome UB
Russians (Hunting/Mining) +late UU irrelevant UB
Vikings (Fishing/Hunting) +water dependent UB/UU pairing. I say them because I can see water peeking at us from the south and west, implying we may be on an island/peninsula.
Khmer (Mining/Hunting) are elephants banned? this is a good UU if we're up against anyone with a cav UU for sure. The UB has a very nice +food

Thoughts?

My leader ranking for what we see:

Darius (FIN/ORG)
Elizabeth (FIN/PHI)
Suryarvayman (EXP/CRE)
Mansa (FIN/SPI)
Huayna (FIN/IND)
Bismarck (Exp/Ind)

Any of those six I'd be happy with, and since we're sixth...

Thoughts guys?

Edit: Thank you Serdoa for making the map! Much appreciated, and from what I can tell from reading other PBs, everyone has an insatiable lust for mapmaker blood? Anyways, thanks.

I don't think we're going to get much chocie of Civ being 6th in the snake pick. I say we just revisit that choice when we get closer.

Whereas we are almost certainly going to pick up one of your six leaders, and I agree with that.

Didn't realize Marble and Stone were removed from the map. That could give Huayna a huge edge. Or Bismarck

If it comes down to it, I'd like to have one of them over Darius, and I doubt Darius will slide down to 6th.

So I did a quick sandbox with Asoka (blank leader) of Babylon. Worker->Warrior->Settler

Finished the settler eot 28

Worked 3/0/1 then 6/0/1 when worker finished farm.

Researched mining->bw->hunting->pottery

Sent worker to mine hill 1 sw of cap while researching bw. Finished mine, grew to size 3 with some hammers into a second warrior

Worked 6/0/1, 1/3/1, 3/0/1

Chopped PH

1-pop whipped settler t28

If we're not SPI we finish the settler a turn later (if anarchy) or 2 if we don't whip at all. Screen:

If we do this as Exp or Imp (Vicky might be nice...) then these times get cut down a little bit.

My two cents:

For leaders I think we grab Darius or Huayna if they are available if not then I suggest taking Bismark since we have those tasty flood plains and river tiles to keep the finances going.

As for civ lets see what's available.

Finally I say SIP. I think it is a good idea to move if there is a fish placement issue that prevents sharing but that doesn't apply here. This is one area that I think getting too cute can cost you.

If you are on the east coast there is a solar eclipse tomorrow morning so if you are out walking your little one while you wife sleeps be sure to look at the sunrise.
