Gavagai's spoiler thread

(Actually, we don't really need Fur that early, so a different spot for a second city may be an option. But it goes without saying that city #2 should share one of capital food resources.)

Yeah, 1 NE of the fur seems like a good second city location. We really need to split off a food resource with our second city. The second city can build a worker first if you want to whip the capital for a second settler. Regardless, I think you should post in the tech thread cause it looks like Zaldax is going to hold up the game again rolleye

EDIT: Semi X-Post

EDIT 2: The fur is a rather good tile at 2-1-5, only a slightly worse gem mine, so it makes sense to settle for it early anyway

Oh and this is way too early to talk about, but I really don't see why a Code of Laws rush is warranted, I'd much rather skip the religious line and pick up CoL through currency. It's not like wel'll need a bunch of courthouses pre-turn 100 anyway

That will actually depend on the amount of happy we have. Shorter cooldown period between slaves may turn out to be well worth 45 hammers pretty early. Also, I think I would want to pick up a religion. We are definitely not taking early ones and Confucianism seems a good candidate

We might get an early religion, nobody else starts with mysticism, and if we get meditation after pottery we'll have it in the early 50's, which is pretty early. I mean, unless somebody is a complete noob and starts mysticism->meditation wink

Riverside oasis yikes

2S of the sheep looks like a pretty nice second city....

Even the small amount of land we can see is enough to determine that fast horizontal expansion and dense settling is the way to go here - land is good. So, yes, we will need altars pretty soon.

Define soon: before currency? Before math?
