[SPOILERS] DaveV: The vampire bites! Goodbye level 9.

Turn 146. As expected, Ichabod easily captured Stoville.

Since the log explicitly states that two trebuchets retreated, I'm going to assume that the other two died. That's better than I had a right to expect.

Turn 147. Kind of late in the game for Sailor's Dirge.

I don't think a stack of skeletons will be more than an inconvenience for anyone at this stage. The worst it can do is pillage some seafood, probably.

Ichabod is not satisfied with retaking his former territory; he wants a piece of Thoth's former territory as well.

Have I mentioned lately how hard Arcane Lacuna sucks?

Under what circumstances can sailors dirge be created? (Or were you just commenting on how much of a non-factor it is now?)

Yeah, it was meant to be a comment on how not-scary a few skeletons are at turn 150. It looks like the only requirement is Sailing tech.

Turn 148. Ichabod continues to advance.

My new theory on his master plan: move to fork Zamboni and Backbacon. Conquer one of them, and stuff ~25 Mercenaries into the city.

plako is flashing Pit Beasts, which are immune to Death damage. He needs something better than that, though. He really should be scorching the cow tile at the top of the screen, since I'm planning on building a critical road there.

One more turn of no spellcasting.

Turn 149. Sorry, only one screenie. I'm not trying to hide my buildup, it's just really a pain to take screenshots with my laptop.

Turn 150. The log gives the bad news:

He took both cities, losing a few trebs, but no other units. Then he gifted the cities to Thoth so the borders popped. Because of turn order, Thoth was even able to build defenders. After I pillaged a couple roads, here's the situation:

I moved my two stacks into position against plako.

Here are the reserves I can see in his capital. He's hiding most of his magic users, and it looks as though he has Alteration now for Destroy Undead.

I also checked out his garrison in Dragonstone.

After spending a couple hours playing the turn, and still making several stupid mistakes, I'm back to being bitter and depressed about this game. It's me by myself against four other players and ded-lurkers, any one of whom is probably a better civ player than I.

Hi Dave,

Just wanted to pop in and say that I, for one, am thoroughly enjoying the way you've played and shared this game. And given the thousands of views your thread has gotten, I'll wager there's a good number of others who are enjoying it as well. At some point perhaps you could list what tools you've used so others might better emulate you. I'm guessing you use more than just print screen and MS Paint.... wink

Also, outside of the tools you use to post, I have no clue where those three little icons on the upper right-hand of your screen are coming from. In your most recent screen captures, all three were vampires...is that from some module or something?

Anyway, for what it's worth, I'm learning a lot from you and being thoroughly entertained....

So...play on...!

I'm also appreciating the reports, remember that though you have everyone ganged up on you, they're only doing so because of your position smile

The icons in the top right hand of the screen come from the minimize builds option, which means that the pop ups at the start of the turn will wait until all units have been moved before demanding attention, those are clearly what three of his cities built this turn (incidentally, that option is not recommended for PBEM as it can cause bugs such as informing other players of what you've built).
