I'm strongly against restricted leaders (to the degree that i would jump ship) since that throws all but a handful of combos out as vastly inefficient

Hah, okay- I can deal with unrestricted. But there is only a handful of people playing, and I don't think we're banning any leaders, if that would change your mind tongue

I'd vote against restricted, too, but I don't feel as strongly as Sian does.

Snake pick for unrestricted, then?

my problems with restricted is this:

Its relatively easy to
a; split the leaders into tiers of how strong their traits is
b; split the civs into tiers of how strong their UU/UB/Techs is

which leads to a rather few choices that argee nearly no matter who you ask to make split what into tiers, and these would be at least somewhat differencated with a more or less clear list of who's strongest, second strongest and so on, as there is a limited ways to play which ... not as in FFH where each civ/leader is more/less unique and each have a certain way of being played that can be strong, which doesn't have near as much overlap between each other

Okay, no problem. I won't press for restricted leaders. I guess we just wait for Stick or whoever to show up, and then we can begin a snake pick?

Yep let's do that. No bans for snake pick?

You could try the point system used in pbem 53 for your leader pick.

I would prefer snake pick, for the sake of simplicity. There's only five of us playing, let's just take our silly power combos and get started smile

Looks like Sian -> Jowy -> Mardoc -> Bobchillingworth -> TheStick (if Bob's right about TheStick's location) for a reasonable turn order. Speak up if you have an objection!

Shall we ask Commodore to roll to see who picks first/plays last?

Although, I guess we probably ought to wait to see if TheStick is actually in, and if he has opinions on any of thee settings.
