Hi Dhalphir, maybe you are interested in online playing? As it can make 10-20-30 turns done in a single seat, opposed to 1-2 turns per night via PBEM.
About settings, do you find the settings from the Duel League any good?

I'm dumb and forgot to post last night. I think I want to be Hannibal of Egypt, if that's okay (I can switch if one of those is the one you wanted; there are many other combinations I'd like to try out. Also we can go with a more low-power matchup if you'd like).
Also, it's an Ancient start, right? Also, I would prefer Quick speed; what do you think?

Quick/Ancient definitely. I'll go Sury of Mali. Do you like Mirrorland (got the names messed up earlier) or would you prefer a flat/cylindrical script (like Inland Sea)?
Other settings: Noble, Duel or tiny?, No nukes, Elephants or spies, GS cannot leave borders. That link bans planes as well, which I'm inclined to agree with.

Those bans sound good to me. Don't know if there's anything we're forgetting ...
Noble's fine. How 'bout a Tiny Mirrorland?

Mirrorland map size is determined by the number of players, not the setting. It either gives a 40x40 chunk each, which I feel is too roomy, or I modified it to give 20x20 each, which is a bit squashed. The setting itself only determines the tech cost, and some of the maintenance calculations, as well as a few obscure mechanics like corporation output.
Speaking of which, I'm not fussed either way, do you want to ban corps?

Corp ban - probably won't come up, but sure (same with planes).
Map - Mirrorland on the default size sounds good to me. Honestly, I'd prefer a little bit of breathing room my first time around.
So we've got no barbs, no huts, no corps, elephants, planes, or spies; GSpies stay in borders; Quick, Ancient, Noble, Mirrorland, just need to confirm the size. Sury of Mali vs. Hannibal of Egypt. Cool. Are we supposed to get a third party to roll it, or do it ourselves?

I think its faster for one of us just to roll it. I'm fine with that size, probably tiny setting. Which do you want out of Inland Seas, Waterways, Inland Oceans or lakes? Basically Lakes is ~15% water, with scattered lakes and no decent bodies, Waterways and Inland Seas are each 29% water with Waterways having more and smaller bodies compared to inland seas, and Inland Oceans has 44% water. I think I favor Waterways slightly and then Inland Seas myself.
Other then that, Critical Resources close should be checked, as should Always War, do you want improvements placed and/or in the BFC?

Oh, I didn't even know you had a choice (I don't have the script installed personally 'cause of some weird issue I have yet to fix). Waterways sounds fine though.
I don't have a strong preference, but I think I'd prefer to have the improvements off. But if you really like them, that's okay too.
