Did you actually want Commodore's map or were you just accepting to be friendly, prior to the retract?
It looks like you managed to convince Scooter to get at least a couple HA after all. I guess those cities are switching to zerks after the HAs are done?
What are your plans regarding acquisition of military intelligence?

Kind of both. No pressing reason to say no, and we are trying to be friendly with him (gifting him an incense currently). Anyway, I think I might just re-offer it to him.

Sort of. We can't build Zerks or Knights right now, so whatever we built was either going to be upgraded or used as an "extra" unit... And I figured if we are going to have some units for NOW, something with mobility would be nice. Next will be Zerks, yeah.

Probably just mass map trades. Nakor will trade maps with someone, and we have contact with everyone sooo... We'll get his updated maps from somewhere. I'm not too worried. We currently know where all his cities are anyway.
If you mean just general visibility, I imagine we'll make a couple sentry units. We might actually use one or two of these Horse Archers being built as upgrade to sentries since we have a few Stables built.

City garrisons are totally for losers, man.
Yes, that's a different city than the one I posted yesterday. Anyway, next game I play I'm totally going to load a single warrior on my scouting boats and ignore the first couple empty cities I see, that way players get too comfortable and THEN I strike on a juicy city. Except it won't work now that I told all of you my secret plan.j
Pindicator - just to confirm we definitely want to pick Confucianism. Not only do our 3 best cities (TB, Tigers, Orioles) all have it, but culture/food/hammer starved Gators just picked it up EoT. Pretty soon we have a settler coming out of Valiants. Here are the 3 choices:
Initially I was kinda thinking the first one. I figure with chopping we can get it up quickly, which would mean it could probably contribute some minor things to the war effort. On the flipside, we don't really have the workers on the mainland to be able to afford random choppings up here. We need a few workshops/farms more pressingly. So maybe one of the island spots would be better. Got any strong feelings? Maybe the 3rd one (Bears) since the fish is better than the Wheat?
I love it when this happens. I'm sitting in game minding my own business whennn...
WAR. Slowcheetah's land is awful, but Ichabod wants some of it apparently. No cities exchanged (yet), but Ichabod did whip a couple times. Demos in case you care:
preview-edit: on the settler - we could always reach for that fish/iron mini-island just southeast of NFC North. Our exploring galley is about to get there and finish defogging it.

I wanted to do that this game with an axe or two, but somebody wanted to attack Nakor...

I'm leaning towards #1 Cow, #2 Fish/Iron, #2 Fish on NFC Island, #99 Wheat
What I would do is settle that cow city and dedicate 1 worker to getting it up. Get that city to size 2 and have it work the cow & horse and just pump out workers non-stop. Wish I had done that with an earlier settler, tbh, but I didn't think of it that way until now.

Also, my hellish move is almost over. We did took four truck-loads of stuff out of that house in the last two days: 2 to the dump, 2 to the recycling center. And on top of that I am going to get a drop bin for the rest of the abandoned stuff. (As much as I'd like to sort and recycle and donate items, there's no time. I've got until the end of the week and can only work on it Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.) I'm never living with roommates again, this is costing me a fortune to clean up the shit they abandoned.
Oh, how does that relate to civ? Well, I'll have more time to play and plan soon.

Jesus. That sucks.
Agreed - living without roommates is much better, and definitely a lot easier & more predictable.

Yeah, if the landlord wasn't such a nice guy I would have probably entertained thoughts about just walking away from the deposit...

Guess what time it is...
Breakeven is probably 60%: -7gpt and 231bpt. 50% is +20gpt and 196bpt
Also, I moved our galleys and gave peace offers to dhalphir and dtay. But I may have to revise my choice for our next settler...

Logging back in, we have a trade proposal.
We're already getting gold & ivory but maybe we can cancel those trades. What we aren't getting is wine, but it will cost us our only source of incense, so we're not gaining anything here. I declined the deal.
And then i kicked off the golden age:
I was previously estimating us averaging 300bpt during the GA. 350 is more like what we're starting on. For those that are curious we top 500bpt at 100% and make about 270gpt at 0% science. I would guess that we are going to get Guilds without any problem by the end of the GA. Which means knight production will be starting in 8 turns. Oh boy
Most builds seemed straight-forward. I'm continuing with galleys in the west-coast until we get to 4. Red Wings is keeping it's scientists, although part of me wants to fire them and work the mines. Boilermakers was a bit of a quandry:
Since the islands are "fending for themselves", and we are going to need a unit to go with the island city, I decided to make a berserker here. We could also build a galley or trireme (4 turns), or build a barracks (5), library (7), or forge (9). I think units are better for now, so I would go between the zerker or the trireme.
Also, Lewwyn is keeping close watch over us
I wanted to put that worker on the forest so we could start chopping next turn. But the chariot stopped that idea - thankfully I had the sense to move the worker due south to check for his sentry guy before actually going to the forest. Next turn we'll have the spear to escort, but for now we're just waiting. And yes, I agree with your signs: farm and mine that stuff: Boilermakers is going to be stealing that fish anyway.
Expenses and Demos are very nice, as you might suspect:
