Sounds good.

There's also the Official Strategy Guide, although the only version I've seen has scanned images instead of text.

As for text files and FAQs, Dan Simpson's FAQ might be nice.
I haven't used it at all anymore myself, but I remember I found it quite enlightening when I first read it.
I can't think of any others that might be useful to include.

I think we owe it to our local contributors to include their mods too. Zitro1987, letsdance, Anthony, Asfex, Fracok, Twan, etc. I would ask them each first if they agree to this.

Well, there's the problem of getting them to agree. Maybe some of them don't log in any more. Moreover, I want to avoid a situation in which our users are presented with a blizzard of options. I've seen that before and it sucks. I download some old software, and some helpful person has tossed in every mod, every variant, and everything but the kitchen sink and made a confusing mess, when all I wanted to do was play the standard game.

I think this topic needs its own thread now. I just noticed I now have an admin control panel visible, so it appears I'm a moderator now. Cool! Not that there's much to moderate, but still. I'll get on changing that.

Tiltowait is 'shirts', I changed my username. That was a dumb throwaway noun for a random name back when I just wanted to ask some questions. Now, I changed to a cooler name that doesn't sound stupid. Same man, same goals.

Not a big problem. PM them and they receive an email (hopefully). They may still read that. Those who do not respond do not get listed.

Playing the standard game of MOM should be easy even if a patch and some mods are shown in addition. There must be a tradeoff. Asking mod owners would be one way to find out how close to “finished” their versions are considered. Another step would be asking some of our members to test first and report if worth sharing in current form. Maybe a poll. I for one think that Zitro’s Balance and Speed and Insecticide Experiment is better than Insecticide alone, but I tested it over a year ago.

Then the issue of how to present it. You can state that these are not finished, but hey what is finished anyway? MOM? Insecticide? Or any other 4X Game out there? PLEASE help me find one, as I don’t know any. They are all in progress or abandoned without proper fix. That’s why we're are all here dreaming and making sluggish progress and not playing that masterpiece which is close enough to what we dream about.

Eh, I'm not worried about "finished". It's the state of MoM in 2014. Besides, projects like that are never ever finished. PuTTY is still at version 0.63 after 13 years of being in constant production use.

If it's going to be a problem I'll just include a link to the forum and tell people to download their own mods. I'm mostly interested in the original game + bugfixes.
