t6, praise the RNG, the number of forests in our capital's BFC doubled.
2metraninja seems to have teched fishing as well, and is not growing to size 2 too. Probably the same opening as us, of fishing + worker.

By turn 10 I've explored thus, and just finished AH:
As you can see there are furs and horses in the radius of the original capital. This will work great for a city that shares the southern pigs and it's what I'm currently thinking about for my second city.
I figured out some options in the shower and I believe what I will do is improve the southern then northern pigs while growing to size 3 almost exactly. (I can spend one turn working grass forest* over fish and still get enough food for this.) Then 1-whip the workboat and overflow, exactly completing a warrior which will be needed for military police as I grow to size 4 in 3t more. Then put 2t into a settler and either 2-whip it 1t early or grow to size 5 and then whip it next turn, just as the previous unhappiness wears off. BW finishes just in time for the workboat whip or I would improve northern pigs before southern pigs, so the worker ends up in the south. But if I did that I believe I would be short 2 commerce. Anyway, after pasturing both pigs, the worker will probably move to the grass forest hill, putting some turns into mining it and roading it before I put down a city on the highlighted tile.
Another option is to place a city 3N of the capital, and that one has two advantages. It wouldn't need a road as it would be connected automatically over the lake. Also, the worker won't have to waste an extra turn moving nearby as it does if we want to settle south. However, I think that more quickly claiming the horse and fur (which are not only strong tiles, but also provide access to nice units and +1 happy cap which the capital will love) will be worth a lot.
As as side note, if 2metraninja settled where I believe, namely SW of where I did, then he won't have nearly as good an option settling for the horses/furs. In fact the only city he can settle which shares that southern pig is directly on the horse, which would be a travesty.
*EDIT: I keep waffling between this and the grass forest hill. Not sure if I will prefer having +1h or +1f down the line...

I usually prefer to reclaim plains tiles with city placement, I think you can do more with a grass tile.

I would say +1h given the start and the (eventual) large food/low hammers setup, especially with so many low cost work boats to build (which you won't want to whip).

Everything's been going according to plan. I just got BW and whipped the WB. Next up, growing to size 4 and whipping a settler. The worker is going to spend two turns moving onto the grass forest hill and road, unless we decide next turn to settle north instead.
Warrior is defogging the north to make sure it's not a better direction for city #2. I decided to scout out this area instead of revealing more of the south, because I coudn't imagine anything plausible that would change my wanting to put the southern city where I'm putting it. At this point, it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that there won't be a more desirable spot in the north, either.
This is where copper turned up.
I've been casually tracking 2metraninja's own progress and it seems he's done the exact same moves as me so far, other than the different city spot. But right now is the first real difference, as I have finished a second pig pasture and he probably built a mine instead (he's not working it, rather he's on the unimproved fish). But yeah, same techs, same worker, same tiles worked, same workboat whip this last turn.
Oh, not exactly the same tiles worked. He didn't work a forest the previous turn while I did. (I worked the forest hill, as I did some calculations and I think the extra hammer will be useful for completing workboat #2, before the extra food would do anything.) This makes sense as he doesn't have the same crazy food surplus that I have with the two pigs.

Quick not-too-relevant questions:
What are the map dimensions (ie how far are your capitals apart)?
Are you doing some sort of civ-sessions or just sending the save back and forth when one has time?
Reading with interest.

The map is composed of two identical rectangles, 20 tiles high and 16 wide. Capitals are at the center of each. They are laid side by side, but offset vertically 10 tiles. So capitals are (16,10) apart.
We aren't doing anything formal but in practice, we've played almost all the turns in only 3 sessions. Last update is current.

2metraninja's warrior turned up in the wrong place at the wrong time. We banned early combat, so the implications are that he can camp on my best tile to settle on (the bare plains) and I can't do anything about it.
I decided to, instead of roading the forest hill for a trade connection like I planned, road this tile. It will lead to a trade connection soon enough, it allows the settler to reach its desired destination in one turn if the warrior doesn't go there first, and it also allows me to switch into a plan of settling 1W on the forest, which is a very similar site. The casualties are, I won't get a trade connection until I also road the horses, and I will have to spend another worker turn moving back onto the hill. On the plus side I end up with a slightly more relevant road network.
Sadly, the pasture will be done a turn later than desired. But things look good overall. 2metra has a single size 5 city, working fish/clam/pigs/FP (bare I think)/grass river mine. He should get a second city within the next few turns. He just finished mysticism so is clearly going for a religion.
For the near future, I'm thinking I'll build a 3t worker in Garlic and then whip the granary as the anger wears off. Then grow to 6 and whip a second settler. Meanwhile I'll hook up horse and fur with worker #1. Tech-wise, I'm picking up hunting and will probably go for religion after that - monarchy is really appealing given the lack of precious metals, the insane capital, the nearby wines and the fact that I'm spiritual.
