I'm not planning to report this game in great detail, but I guess I should at least give you'll an update. Here's the shots of the current empire:

Settling my 5th city up here next turn. Notice the total farmer's gambit...

Sniped Dhalphir's scouting warrior with my chariot down here. If it had been a scout I would have left it be, warriors annoy me. Make me twitchy. Must punish.

I lead GNP and CY, 2nd in MFG.

Basic plan - spam workers and settlers and enough military to defend myself. No need for anything fancy with this setup. Imperalistic makes settlers cheap, financial makes cottages op... cottage farm blanket with maybe 1-2 production cities.

Bored of studying ze quantum mechanics right now, so here's some reporting. I'm finding expanding is super easy on base bts+imperialist, I can almost always double whip a settler after 1 turn of putting in foodhammers. Result - outexpanding the field at the moment, with 5 cities to two 4's and two 3's, founding a 6th next turn and a 7th 3 turns after that. 8th city will probably go on an island (tbd) to restore economic vitality to my then probably-crashing economy.

The Commerce Core:

Working lots of cottages here between the 3 original cities. A river there would have been great, but I've claimed a good one to the east and west

The East:

Didn't mean for this to be quite so close to BaII, map was smaller than I thought. I'm going to position most of my military here until the azza front heats up. Most of my military is atm 1 chariot, but it'll be 3-ish chariots soon and then an ax once I get copper online.

The West:

Built a monument here despite having a religion b/c I want to pop borders quicker than I can get missionaries, wanna get at that gold. Unfortunately there was no way to get gold + food first ring.

Copper Site down South:

Debated for a while east or west of the hill. West could share Capital sheep, comes online faster, but gains no new food. Also not sure if I want to be sharing ALL of the capital food sources. East is slower, but gets the new sheep and leaves open a future filler 2W of the copper. I decided on east, not sure if it was the right call.

7th city is going to be either 1S or 1SE of the mountain here

BaII has a scouting warrior approaching a right-now-undefended city that I thought was a safe plant (that copper spot on the south coast). Whipped a capital chariot and shifted that city to make a warrior (which will be in time). Annoying. I said earlier how I feel about scouting warriors. BaII also has a scout sitting around my other border watching some workers and settlers.

Higher probability I let these things live just b/c BaII is a neighbor and I don't want an actual war, but bleh.

Interesting! Only way if it could be more would be with 1,000 more words in the form of a screenshot....wink

Well, in the pursuit of perfection:

Clearly that city looks stupidly disconnected in retrospect, I just kind of assumed no one would have military anywhere near there, and then sailing would connect it to trade routes (not that I don't want a road over there, it just didn't seem to be a super important immediate priority...)

You can see my quick expansion reflected in the demos:

Crap GNP, great MFG and CY. One of the next 2 cities will be overseas to help on that GNP. I need to finish up sailing, then decide whether I'm going for calendar and the MoM or currency for the GNP.
