PBEM 57- Tech Thread

I love my tight rotational mirrors, and it seems other people have enjoyed them. I've got another little map here, anyone interested in playing it? I have recommended rulesets if interested, but people can certain beg to differ. I see no reasons why RBmod or Tides of War couldn't be used either, entirely up to the players. It's a very refreshingly different way of play, making trait and civ values rather different, and it tends to be a good deal less of a time drain than bigger sprawl games with empires maxing out at ~10 cities or so.

The stats:
Emperor Difficulty
24x24 Toroid
Raging Barbarians
Always War
Primarily land map, mirrored/rotated starts a la 34, 42, 44 (salt water but no naval size seas)
Start with two CG3 archers (or equivalent UUs) in addition to your settler and warrior or scout.
MAP (final)

Standard bans:
War Elephants
SoZ
Great Artist bombs
Nukes
Spies

Players, turn order:
Ruff- Elizabeth of China (ruff.hi)
Commodore- Napoleon of Native America (commodore.rb)
Queeg- Ramses of India (hawk2370)
Oxyphenbutanane- Fredrick of Sumer (rbpbemoxy)

If there are 3 other green players who are up for a casual game with a steady turn rate of 1 per day, I'd be interested. A small mirror map would be a great way for me to practice a bit of warfare and get out of my farmer's gambit mindset. I had fun reading the Greens and Vets games earlier, would be fun if that could be set up.

How does casual / green / steady turn pace sound to you Oxy? I can be a bit impatient if people are playing like slugs, other than that I'm quite mellow for the most part smile If there are others who want a more serious or higher level game, by all means go for it.

Not to be mean, Catwalk, but you joined one of these before, in 42. You sure you want to sign up for the same thing again?

Oh I remember that one well. I was heavily annoyed with myself for screwing it up (and with my opponents for not letting me sandbox in peace lol), but I did enjoy the map. I did stipulate that I'd be up for a green and casual game, so if others join with different interests I'll just sit it out.

That's what I was getting at. There's no peace in these tight AW games.

Green and casual sounds fun to lurk... I guess, as the guy who picked up the pieces in 42, I'm asking if you're still going to want to play when your sandbox goes Godzilla.

I have a pretty consistent time for playing civ so I should be fine on turn pace if we can coordinate turn orders

I apologize for that, and I solemnly swear to not bail when the bulldozers come stomping. I do want the early pressure, and I won't succumb this time whether I succeed or not.

I'll resist the temptation to sign up for this one, even if I say I'm going to play it casually it probably won't end up that way and the next 6 months will be rather busy for me. I'm definitely up for dedlurking someone, though.
