Has anyone asked Asterix to end his turn? Assuming no, so I did send him a private message asking, if he could. If someone has more direct connections like chat or email address, feel free to ask him to do it.

Both involved parties are approaching the limits of being a jerk, unless having a very good reason to act like this. I've no idea, if there is a proper reason since neither party have given their reasoning to me. Just being in Cold war really isn't a good enough.

Maga_R must have given Asterix the team email before she left since you can still use the old email (first post of the thread). Asterix is good with responding to email so that's probably the best way to contact him.

You're Facebook friends? Pretty interesting, as I didn't expect people to know each other. It would be interesting to Facebook friend everyone here, though mine is pretty much dead due to lack of updates.

I am sorry, I have had hardware problem + deadline at work = no time to fix it.

I planned to post about it, but then saw classical's post asking not to end this turn before Jan 10 and DMOC's supporting it - and Dinosaurs not playing yet anyway- so I thought I have until Jan. 10th.

I should be able to fix my problems around Tuesday, I have not played the turn yet, just log in to look.

Yeah, I think it was a bit unclear since Caledorn said he changed the timer, but there didn't seem to be a consensus on whether we wanted to hold off the turn. But no worries, hopefully we can get the game rolling after this week.

I actually consider quitting. Lp quitting, Magno just stopped showing up, all our dedlurkers escaped when LP quit. You know: if you would see my teamchat in forums, you would see me talking to myself. Its pretty pitiful and pointless. And now I am laying ill in bed the seventh day, I have been using lots of time securing internet enough for this game and then DT finds out it is fair to delay game because they have a cold war and Asterix barely answers on anything (Also being a lone turnplayer)... I guess my patience runs pretty thin now.

Hey Arkipeller, I hope things are okay, and I urge you to stick with the game if you have a shred of interest left. I know that at times a Pitboss game can last a while and there are plenty of mood swings (interest goes up, followed by some dullness, but then it perks up again). Don't worry about the lurkers; a lot of time, lurkers would like to say things that they simply can't say. I know there's a ton I'd like to talk about in Pitboss 13 but I limit myself to simple statements to avoid spoiling anyone. In fact, you should see our thread when the game is over (or if you elect to leave), as I've had some pretty harsh words for what other people have been saying about the game, so you're not the only one who wishes lurkers would be a bit different. I have a table of contents link in the first post, so you can find it easily.

Of course, if it's really painful to stay in the game, I'm sure everyone would be happy to find a substitute. Alternatively, you could ask if someone would be interested in joining your team --- I'm sure there are plenty of candidates out there. I've actually been pretty impressed with this game as far as civilization "retention" goes. We've never had to really pause for civs since all substitutions (Lord Parkin => Arkipeller, Maga_R/slaze => Asterix, Kurumi/HB => Sut/Oxy, am I missing anyone?) seemed to have been done smoothly and without interruption, unlike what happened to us in "bad blood" Pitboss 2, when the Inca civ was basically a revolving door of leadership, or that dreadful Pitboss 7.

I also have no idea why there exists a "cold war" in this game, and I too wish that the pace of the game was faster. But signing up for a Pitboss game often means going with the flow of what other teams do. I wonder if plako has anything to add with regards to the turn delaying? Perhaps he can offer an objective perspective on the situation.

This is getting ridiculous starting with DMOC giving CH unilateral permission to not play turns until the 10th and then asterix disapearing completely and not updating us when he's delayed and now DT is refusing to play his turn even though the game admin has told him to. There seems to be a lack of respect for other player's enjoyment of the game from some teams...

What I meant was that if it was really that bad for CH to play (maybe in the hospital for a week or something, I don't know), then we could delay the game as needed. I added that post there primarily because I had a major work deadline on the 7th (but I could have played if needed, it would have just been suboptimal, probably) and Teddy's also talked to me about turnplaying issues. Ideally, we wouldn't, because I'm just as upset as you are about the game not progressing.

And in retrospect, I shouldn't have even posted, since it seemed to have caused the whole Asterix/DT thing (and my schedule turned out better than expected), but I can't change that. My apologies. I certainly have respect for everyone's enjoyment of this game, and I hope that you weren't referring to our team.

I was on a holiday, but hopefully the next turn is back to normal, since I expected perhaps another ter turn might have started in my absence, but obviously that hasn't happened.
